Kate Beckinsale.

O.K. this is a bit convaluted but here we go.
On another forum someome mentioned Samantha Beckinsale when he actually meant Helen Baxendale.
Which got me thinking, dangerous I know, but is Kate Beckinsale (the Hollywood actress) really Richard Beckinsales daughter? It's an often quoted bit of bumpf but I've never read an interview where she has stated it herself. Whereas the bird that used to be in London's burning and in that dodgy sitcom 'Time after Time' with Brian Connelly, has often stated she was Richards daughter, and yet I'm sure her name was Kate.
However, I'd never heard of a Samantha Beckinsale so was she the one in London's Burning? In which case her and Kate are obviously sisters and everythings hunky dory.
Or, as I've thought all along, is one of the Kates an imposter and just used the name to shuffle up the career ladder.
Help please, I got to get to sleep tonight.

Samantha and Kate are both daughters of the late, great Richard Beckinsale but they have different mothers.

Samantha and Kate Beckinsale are half-sisters sharing the same father (Richard Beckinsale). Samantha is the eldest (40 yesterday) and her career has mainly been in UK television (London's Burning, Holby City and a few appearances in Coronation Street and Heartbeat amongst others). Kate is 33 on Wednesday and has had a more successful career on the silver screen with box office hits such as Underworld, Van Helsing and The Aviator (although I suppose you could count Pearl Harbour as it made a fair amount of dosh even through it was crap).
