I'm not sure if too many people were aware but one of the victims - 21 year old Marion McCabe was from Basildon. I remember when the story appeared at the time in the Echo because i'm sure I saw her at Roots Hall a few times & was really shocked when her photo appeared in the paper.
It's great that after all this time that the truth has finally come out & that the families of those lost can get some comfort at last.
