Can't help thinking rather like Susan Boyle with that amazing voice - so we have an incredible motivator like you'd never believe from listening to him do a media interview!
He's not Mr Perfect, but who is? I just can't get over his motivational skills. They should have been beyond doubt in previous seasons, but this season has been nothing short of incredible.
How hard has it been for him to stay motivated himself after being six years in the job and with everything else that's been going on at the club? To say he's not had a level-playing field is an understatement. He must yearn for a decent squad of players (not just team) with real competition for places. Yet he has to make do with whatever short-term stopgaps that come his way, get them playing his way, playing players out of position, sending out players within our already small squad on loan, and even having to do without his sub keeper for a few weeks just so we can have a recognised defender amongst the other midfielders playing at the back. How hard can it be for HIM to stay motivated?
Yet he goes further. He has somehow managed to keep the players incredibly motivated as well. How many of you would remain as committed to your employers if you are treated as our players have been?
Saturday was unbelievable. There was no way we should have been 2-0 down at the time. They say goals change games. The players' heads could have dropped and we could have gone on to have deservedly lost. This was on the back of other unlucky defeats in a bad run. As people said at the game, "When are we going to get the rub of the green?"
Well sometimes you make your own luck. Barney should have scored the two in the first half, but he didn't hide in the second half. He's just an example. All the players kept going. Why? Only Tilly knows how he does it and keeps doing it every year with new players - if only he could explain to us exactly how!
An amazing achievement from Tilly again this year. Keep it going.
