after a action packed weekend away in nottingham i have finally arrived back in essex and after missing the game saturday (did i drown my sorrows saturday night!!!) i have popped on here to see what evryone made of the game and from i what i gather it was a nervous performance from the boys and i am not surprised. knowing that a win would get promotion and 99% the title and being heading fo championship football i would of been throwing up in the toilet before the game.
But however if everyone would care to study the league table it clearly shows that Southend United are sitting quite nicely in 1st place still. Yes it was a bad result but end of the world? NO! tilly out? ummmm no!!! Time to stand up against Ron and form a FC United of Southend? NO!! 2 games left guys - 6 points left - only three needed at a MAXIMUM to be in the Championship next season.
I will be in Swansea, dressed in blue, pint in one hand, blow up sheep in the other and i will be cheering on the lads like i do every weekend. If they do blow it and get playoffs will i boo them for blowing autos? no!! i will get behin them 110%. if we getting beaten at Cardiff in the playoff final and have to be in League 1 again next season will i abondon ship and call for Tilly's head? NO!!! I am Southend through and through. always have been, always will be, come rain or shine. Success or failure. i am very proud of the boys this season. 35 weeks ago we were hoping for 21st position at least. we are top of league 1. and 4 points clear of 3rd place. what ever happens now come that final whistle against Bristol City I will rise to my feet and applaud every player that has worn a southend shirt this season. because i know they have worn it with pride. i will applaud every coach, physio and kit man because i know that they put in 100% to make sure this club has the success it can achieve. i will applaud ron for backing the team and the coaches and for putting southend back on the map. And I will applaud Tilly and Brush because without those two we could of been making trips to Accrington Stanley and Forest Green instead of Nottingham Forest and playing Col Ewe.
I am proud to be a Southend United fan. I always will be. And this season ain't over yet! We are coming Swansea and we want to have a party!!
