Have just returned home Via a few glasses of red in SS9. I was one of the lucky ones to obtain entry into the councils upper tier today . May i say from the start the fans were in a word Brilliant....I was doubtful for the first hour and a half of the meeting, sitting on the corner next to a few girls from the SUFC office and a young lad and his mum I think we all had our fare share of frowns at times ....

That said, i think overall it was a fare meeting , many points were raised which im sure can be ironed out. I think all the councillors wanted the New Stadium but the main thing was the retail space....Things changed when a non voting councillor turned the tide ........ Following on the gentleman at the back ( i forget his name ) stood up and made the best speech of the afternoon and said he would say yes to the Stadium..To My and those around me the Leader of Southend Council 2nd him.....From then on it was a different picture. There was a brief Bypass sos to speak with two asking for a reveral ..which when voting began remained as 2....the overall Vote for the Stadium was 13-O in favour from the remaining councillors ....

At last My faith has been redeamed , well done Southend Council...The Fans the club ...............

Moving on up !

After so many years of distrust in SBC is was a fantastic day out Thank you!
