JT and Gerrard Rumours and the capello position

If the rumours are true then really there was not much Capello could have done, the two characters involved are both influential and very much dominate englands dressing room. I know Capello should have had a stronger voice than these two, but the English football star culture means there is no way in hell he could have done this without kicking them both out of the team, and even with the knowledge of what had gone on in the backgroud the english public and media would have really taken him to the cleaners for such a move.

If the rumours prove to be true, I for one think we should then we should stick with Capello who argubly did well in trying to bring the team together, we could have had a far worse situation than france on our hands!

To be fair, if that rumour is true, it's still different from Terry's. Terry lost the captaincy for sleeping with a team-mates wife, which is a bit different in a footballing sense than sleeping with your sister-in-law (unless she happens to be married to a team-mate)

Yeah I am very sceptical about the rumours but like PickledWhale says 'smoke and fire' something was wrong with the team and something has happened! lets wait and see!

Think Capello should stay though, he is a good manager, just remember the results we got during qualification, I think the media is forgetting this!

A shame that there's no convenient scapegoat for the fact that our players simply weren't good enough, then.
