For the third time in two and a half weeks, we have been allocated a new, first year referee, Andy Davies from Bournemouth.
His promotion did not come as a surprise and he has done two and two thirds games so far in this, his first season as a Football League referee. The two completed games were at Exeter and Plymouth and he was also in charge of the abandoned match between Wycombe and Bristol Rovers when he was instructed to call off the match by the home club's safety officer (yes, the officer from the team losing 3-1 at home!) due to a bit of lightning. The pitch was a bit wet too.
The two completed matches produced 5 yellow cards and no reds.
Assisting will be Nigel Lugg from Chipstead and Paul Kelly from Gillingham with young Thomas Ramsey, also new to this level of football, from Chelmsford doing the 4th official stuff.
