Jobsworth stewards, MTBD don't need there interference!

wiggy

Darryl's Love Child
The £5 an hour orange bibbed kiljoys tried to ruin a family atmosphere today. As the first set of players had finished there signings in the tent, they then moved on to alongside the Blues coach to do some more. Along came the miked up morons to move everyone away quoting health and safety regulations whatever they are. Couple of the players, Barratt, Flavs carried on signing ignoring the jobbo's as they are in the real world. Stewards are not needed for this fun event so please go away and don't come back!

Wiggy, I kind of agree with the sentiment regarding Health and Safety regulations. I think they're a load of old b*llocks of you ask me!

I wouldn't just blame it on the stewards though. They are just doing their job and if they didn't, would most likely get the sack. That is the unfortunate reality in this day and age where children and adults alike are wrapped up in cotton wool by the state.

totally agree, maher, mccormack, barrett, flavs, and hammell all didnt want to go wen the stewards were telling them to, they kept signing "just one more":guns:

These stewards really ****ing ****ed me off!!

One of them, was taking Darryl in, and then said "o actually Darryl wait a sec, I know this kid you can sign one for him"

****ing prick!!

I am really annoyed as these stewards meant I did not get a few signatures I wanted!!

Before any others get on their high horses regarding the Stewards at the Players Signings they were there at the request of the Trust.
It was a Health & Safety issue.

Last year the Trust Pavillion was mobbed because there was no control and people just kept barging in and at one stage supporters were also crawling under the sides of the Pavilion. Things got broken and items went missing.

This year we requested that the signings were done in two halfs & that a queuing system put in place. Each set of players were only supposed to do 20minutes but ended up doing over an hour.

The reason why supporters were moved away from behind the Coach & Pavillion was a Safety Issue !!!!!
There were guy ropes, generators & other things around the back. And I'm sure that the first time little Johhny tripped over a guy rope and cracked his head open the parents would of sued us & the club. !!!!

So I would suggest before you all rant & rave about the Stewards you actually take a step back & think about why they were there.

Fair enough, but most of the jack boot, heel clicking Hitlers, were the other side of the coach from the Trust tent. There was one jobsworth (I will try to keep this constructive!) who was totally objectionable & rude. My Godson nearly got knocked over by his forceful actions, when the unofficial queues were unorganised, but orderly.

I unerstand the need for some sort of order & organisation, but this one steward was a total woman's front bottom. I hope I don't see him in the East Stand this season, as I won't feel safe & reassured. :guns:

As the modern saying goes, Give them a reflective waistcoat & they think they're Hitler/God (delete which you feel is most appropriate!)

On the whole it was a great day, especially for the kids. My Godson is a Shrimper for life, especially as the players, Maher apart, were superb, friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Class!

So a couple of rusty badges and a dog eared programme got nicked last year, this years idea of creating a mile long queue and the bully boys in orange was a disaster. Managed to miss about 6 players autographs by this shambles, bring back letting the players roam about next year and keep the tent for bricabrac!

why maher apart?

He's always ignorant and rude, Barrett should have been made captain years ago!

Bang on! Walking away from a well mannered little kid asking him for an autograph. To be more accurate, he blanked him!

I met Maher at the Sponsors Evening last year & didn't find him to be the warmest of people. He did at least try a minutest bit then to be friendly, but to ignore a little kid, nah! Maybe he didn't hear him, so lets not slag Maher off too much, but I know what I saw, heard & personally think.

On a positive not AB, as always, likewise Clarkey, Harrold & Hammell were superb & couldn't do enough for the kids. I met those mentioned before at the Sponsors Evening & thought Clarkey & Harrold were top blokes & today proved that wasn't a one off.

Special mentions for being very friendly towards the kids, Foran, Bradders & Black. Top stuff!

Good job you weren't there in 2004 & 2005 when the players came over 6 at a time. You really would of been crying then !!!!!!!!

As for the rusty badges & bric a brac as you put it - they earn vital income for the Trust which in turn gets passed onto the club.

If you would just open your eyes you would actully see that the Trust this year has committed £6500 to the Youth Team, £1000 to Paul Brush plus other numerous donations to local charities on behalf of the POTM Awards.

Oh and one other point, the Rusty Badges are actually best quality Hard Enamel - so they can't rust :)

Of course if you think you can do better !!!!!!!!!!
