Job Agencies

This is a quick plea for advice from you all!

I, along with very possibly the rest of my company, along with majority our client company, am seemingly about to be made redundant in just over one week I've found out. That could be some 150 people. This is all down to the "credit crunch" as our clients that we act for are a Commercial Mortgage company that in the last few days have basically run out of funding and cannot complete any deals for the near future.

So for the first time in just over 3 years I have to look for a job. Balls. Does anyone have any recommendations with regards to job websites and or agencies? I'm basically going to end up in further office work no doubt so I'm just going to look down every avenue.

Cheers in advance for any suggestions. :)

What area do you specialize in mate???

Salary expectations and location accepted???

it might sound a bit obvious, but i have always heard good and professional things sbout Reed. i dunno if they are more geared to younger employees... but at least with a national agency you can look across the local area and london

Lets hope not....if so i might have to remind them of the New Law that came out in October 2006

Monster, Jobsite, TotalJobs and Jobserve have plenty of positions available..

that's not the point. I'm suggesting that perhaps the jobs they advertise are more for graduates and entry level... not for more senior positions. i'm just saying that from my experience they have been good for my friends, but i don't know if that is the same for more senior positions

I am going through recruiting Sales Execs at the moment and i have to say Kelly Services have sent some great candidates, are very professional and are as honest as recruitment consultants can ever be (Sorry if you are one). We have also used Michael Page, CD Sales Recruitment, Pisces.

Got to agree with Pubey, Get your CV on Reed, Monster and all the freebies, the agency's scan these sites to find a fit for the positons.

No real expertise as such! By chance my 3 and half years work experience after leaving college has been in 2 different law firms. It's not something I'm really looking to go into fully, although I have no idea where I want to go now. Am sort of seeing what crops up. Would prefer to work in Essex (currently work in Brentwood which is a 25 min drive for me), but am open to possibly working in the Fenchurch St/Tower Hill region as I can get on at Rainham for a 20 min direct ride to Fenchurch St. Wouldn't really be up for going any further into the City though. Have just been doing the basic office stuff and dealing with clients, solicitors and brokers and that.

Cheers people for the suggestions. Have sort of got the obvious in mind but recruitment is such a wide world there's always someone that knows of a place others don't!

I believe that if redundancy happens, you are allowed 2 days paid leave with the sole intenetion of finding a new job. Don't quote me on that though as I'm not 100% sure.
