Jimmy Corbett

Released By Folkstone

"Invicta boss Neil Cugley spoke to www.folkestoneinvicta.co.uk first thing this morning to say attacking midfielder Jimmy Corbett has left the Club by mutual consent.

Cugs said, “Finances remain tight and so we have to be very careful and do what is right for the Football Club. Jimmy also has to look after himself and we thank him for what he has done for the Club and wish him all the best in the future.”

Outside sources revealed interest in the player from Whitstable Town a few weeks back although it remains to be seen whether this will now be pursued.

“He’s had his problems with injuries and as a result hasn’t always been available and so it has got to the stage where we think it suits both parties. As a manager I’m disappointed in some ways as I think when he is fit he is a class player who can hold the ball up and link up play so well and we’ve no doubt he’ll find another club quickly."
