Jimi Gower

Saw him play last night for Arsenal U19s at Maldon. Jimi came on as 2nd half sub & oozed quality. He's a proper chip off the old block , and has the exact attributes of Dad Mark - the amazing balance on the ball , the close dribbling skills & great vision. He was on set pieces & really bossed the game. Jimi has a decent turn of pace too , so keep an eye out for this lad, he's got a very bright future. He's a decent kid who said he loved his time playing at Southend & has his feet on the ground. Now under the watchful eye of Ex Southenders Luke Hobbs , Kevin Betsy & Terry Mason at Arsenal.
Chatted to his lovely Mum , she was telling me Jimi's uncle is ex Shrimper Simon Francis , still at Bournemouth , now coaching. Marky G has now been at Liverpool 5 years as one of the chief scouts , doing a lot of work across the Netherlands, doing really well. Great to hear lots of stories from the old Southend days & have great memories + only nice things to say about our club .

Arsenal need some good new local talent. They have really tumbled over the past decade and could be a long odds bet to be scrapping to avoid relegation this season.
I thought Mark Gower was local, Hullbridge way, for many years? certainly I saw him there a few times in his Range Rover.
