Tomorrows hearing is to decide whether the Football League have the power to intervene.
Rotherham say we haven't stated our case because we don't have one - simple as that. Their Chairman accuses us of "organised commercial bullying".
RM has slammed their claim, stating that personal terms have always been the stumbling block. He says the letter is not correct as it was dated before the transfer window and Rotherham are getting their wires crossed to make their story stick.
However, the biggest clue in all of this is in the following statement by RM.
"We ended up paying what was a very expensive £25000 to get him in on loan back then..."
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but 25 grand is 25 grand. The perception of expensive must relate to the value represented by that 25 grand. And Ron thinks it was expensive, meaning (in my humble opinion) that JCR probably wasn't worth it.
I'm not passing judgement here as I still think there's more than meets the eye, and SUFC must think they've got a decent case to turn up with a barrister in tow.
RM says he doesn't want to fall out with Rotherham over this. Hmm. I think we probably already have.
But the paper also states that Rotherham have cited their troubles down to a reduction in Season Ticket sales, declining attendances and the JCR issue. If that's the case, they are very small minded. They are losing £140K per week, so sorting the JCR problem, even taking into account the last 8 weeks wages, barely covers a weeks worth.
So unless their attendances have dropped by about 20,000 people this season I think they need to look a little closer to home and cite poor management, exhorbitant wages and poor credit control as more likely causes for their plight.
