Youth Team
I live in Cardiff and play footy with a load of Bluebirds fans. They were shocked that Jarvis had been sent out on loan. They said he's the new Aaron Lennon will make them a million and was due to break through at Championship level this year. Sounds a bit strong but they reallly thought he'd rip League Two apart. I know he hasn't had a lot of game time yet but anyone seen any evidence of that yet?

Does seem highly rated and has looked lively when he has come on against Hereford and Gillingham.

He has had the grand total of 28 minutes game time so far though. So not enough time for him to make his mark.

I would like to see him start vs Lincoln on Saturday, to bring a different dimension to our attack. Perhaps in place of Blair, but I cannot see it happening.

Makes you wonder what the point of bringing him in on a months loan is, if he is only going to warm the bench for the majority. I'm sure he wants to start as well...

Looked to have more about him than the other two upfront did. Would welcome him to start the game om Saturday as I cant see the other two scoring enough.

I'm pretty sure he'll start Saturday. Just being eased into it by PS, but home game, we need a win - he has to start.

No point bringing him in for 28 days (especially if Cardiff rate him so highly) and having him sit on the bench. No way will Cardiff be happy with that - he could have stayed and sat on their bench!

I like the look of this kid from what I've seen so far, he's very quick and strong for his size.

I still expect Corr and Sturrock to start on Saturday though with Jarvis getting a start in the JPT.

Very much the question I made when I started the thread on Jarvis a little while ago. I would also like to see him start on Saturday to give a lttle more cutting edge to the attack but, like you, I have my doubts that it will happen. At the very least I would like to see him brought on much earlier i.e. half-time.............in preparation for his first start, which I imagine would be in theJPT against Barnet. It would appear that for PS, Corr and his son have done just enough against Hereford and Gillingham to merit keeping their place. Looks like Nat will have to make a BIG impression at Barnet in order to keep the other two from starting.
It will be interesting to see the reaction of Cardiff, if he doesn't start getting regular first team football..............I imagine that a months loan could end up being exactly that.....................he could have stayed in Cardiff to warm their bench.

Just because you're in on loan dosen't give you the god forgiven right to be in the starting line up. You have to earn your place in the side.

Nobody saying he has a right - more to the point, why would you bring in a highly rated youngster - with the attributes we need in an area and then not play him.

Of course he has to earn his place, but if he is as good as everyone seems to rate him, then it makes sense to start him Saturday surely?

The whole point of loaning players, is to borrow them with a specific intention to use them. Aside from a keeper, you dont loan someone to sit on the bench.

We've only seen this lad for about half an hour over the two games, he hasn't had a weeks training with the side yet so he's still settling in and finding his feet.

He had a couple of chances on Tuesday night, the second he probably should have scored.

With four points from two away games I wouldnt be making unnecessary changes to the line up.

Spot on. He can't earn his place if he is not being played.

If we dont play him then it could backfire when trying to get other youngsters on loan in future

IIRC when Anthony Grant joined us on loan from Chelsea he didn't start a game for us and spent all his time warming the bench. 2 years on he's probably our most important and best player.

He'll start this weekend, providing he's learned to play as part of a unit and not be too greedy. Dunno y, but just have a feeling.

Or one of you could jog past the training ground tomorrow morning and have a gander???

Still very interested what the plan is- just bringing him in for 28 days in isolation is not really Sturrocks way? Is there an option to extend? Is it filling a gap until we get someone else in/something else comes off? Then it makes more sense.
Interesting- for now lets hope he has a great month and helps us to some points

I don't really see him starting on Saturday. If I'm right, I think this would be a clear pointer that he's not just here for a month. The game plan, I'm sure, is to extend the loan provided he settles in OK during the month and both parties are happy for the loan to be extended. A prolonged run, in and around a league side, to gain decent experience of playing with hardened professionals is surely what Cardiff want.

I'd hazard a guess at the initial month being purely to have a closer look at him... See how he trains, what attitude he takes and how he settles in with the rest of the squad before committing ourselves to a longer loan period.

The last thing we want is for him to walk into training next week, break Moshni's leg and sleep with Grant's missus, forcing us to send him back and we've wasted one of our four long term loans for the season.

Why?? We apparently needed someone to come off the bench and make an impact. Someone who is different to what we have on the books at the moment. That's now what we've got.
