Hi all,

New to the forum.

Went to the game yesterday. Great goal by Woodyard and all round wood workout for all concerned.

Jamie Stevens, played yesterday, he wasnt at his best but he is 17 years old and I have been majorly impressed with what I have seen in the youth team and Reserves. Glad to see he is gettin more opportunities as he has alot of potential. He passes a ball better (short and long) than anyone I have seen in a Southend Shirt, been a season ticket holder for 12 years and looks a real dominant force in the middle of the park.

He recently played for Northern Ireland U19s and he is only 17 and I read he played a prominent role which is very pleasing.

Like to see more apperances for Stevens in the Reserves and maybe a taste on the bench. I agree he looked shaky yesterday but this was a blip in my opinion as normally his game is superb and he is ready for first team involvement.

Has anyone else got any opinions, good or bad?

Youth is the future.

Why would he need to be a season ticket holder, and being a season ticket holder since he was 5 is quite commendable as well.

Iv only seen him 3 or 4 times just be really impressed.

southend4ever, Haha your probably right, he wont make the grade. That made me laugh.

EastStandBlue, you seen the lad play much?

if he is any good, we will tell him to take a hike and he will probably sign for Billericay before moving to Dagenham and then Man United and score the goal in the 2018 Champions League final that retains the trophy for the United scum

I'd expect Stevens to get a deal at the end of the season and taking his technical ability into account, he should make it. Hopefully it'll be with us...

I know Jamie well ,he came here from West *&% , a good prospect ,hard working midfielder , great passing vision, strong lad , takes nearly all free kicks and penalties , how good could he be ,I dont honestly know , but if he keeps working hard ,he should get a chance . I also know Sturrock has watched him personally at B & Laces
