Jamie Forshaw

I watched Lowestoft Town play at Great Wakering Rovers yesterday afternoon. Jamie has joined the Trawlermen until the end of the season and made his first start for them in a 2-1 Championship Manager Isthmian League Cup quarter-final defeat at Croydon Athletic on Thursday night.

As a result, he was only a substitute yesterday, coming on for the final ten minutes as Lowestoft moved two points clear at the top of the Ryman (Isthmian) League Division One North with a 3-0 win at Burroughs Park.

I had a chat with him whilst he was warming up, and he still stays in touch with the likes of Stuart O'Keefe and Johnny Herd, who he played with in the youth team and reserves here, and he had planned to pop into Boots & Laces to watch the youth team yesterday morning to catch up with Ricky Duncan as well.

Lowestoft look very likely to win promotion to the Ryman Premier Division this year, and Jamie still hopes that he will be able to make his way back up the Conference and into League Two in the future. He was frustrated by a lack of opportunities at Blue Square Premier club Ebbsfleet United, whom he signed for after being released by the Shrimpers at the end of last season, and is looking forward to a consistent run of matches from now to the end of the current campaign.
