ITV Commentators

Aaaarghhh!!! Why are they so *****?

First of all when Gerrard dived just outside the box the co-commentator brilliantly said...

"There was no contact but..."

If there was no contact then he dived, simple as that.

Then with the goal when Torres put his hand on the defenders shoulder and quite obviously pulled him back, but they didnt say much about him doing anything wong! It was quite obvious but because its an english club its ok.

Liverpool deserve the 2 goal lead, but neither of those goals (if that makes sense!)

Same thing happening with Chelsea. Michael Essien went down after three minutes, some five seconds after a tiny, tiny touch on the ankle.

"Essien goes down. Free-kick."

No, you biased *******!

"Essien cheats. Cheats to win a free-kick."

Just because they play for a British club doesn't mean they don't cheat...

Gerrard....

It seems i'm the only one who thinks that Torres none nothing wrong for the first goal, yes he put his hand on his shoulder but pulled him back? No chance.

I like a bit of pro-English commentary. My favourite moment ever is 'Get in there you beauty' when Villa scored a penalty against Inter in the UEFA Cup.

Andy Gray screaming something similar when Gerrard slammed that volley in against Olympiakos was quality as well

Apparently he got a load of letters of complaint from Everton fans for that. Was a great goal though!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants blatant partisanship when it comes to our sides playing Johnny Foreigner, especially the national team. The wonderful line 'you have to say that's magnificent' when Maradona scored against England in 1986 really summed up the mood of the England fans - it was a gritted teeth acknowledgement that the cheating little ******* had done something extraordinary. An unbiased commentator would have been going quite insane, and I know I wouldn't have enjoyed that. I also gained a new found respect for Jimmy Hill during that game, whose only contribution to the commentary was going potty when we scored and sounding close to tears when Gary came so close to the equaliser. Impartiality can kiss my behind.

Spot on Rusty. It's just that the ITV summarisers are so bland with their platitudes. They're biased whilst trying to pretend they're neutral. Screw that. If Clive Tyldesly said before kick-off "Right, I want to see Juande Ramos's legs broken, the useless spic" it would be much more watchable.

I loved Jimmy Hill when Lineker scored against Poland and in the background you could hear him screaming "Whoa-ho-ho-ho!!". Well, not literally loved Jimmy Hill, but you get my drift.
