Or; "Same Old Spanish Shrimper" always being negative about the club?

OK, so we all roll over and accept the incompetences of the club just because we don't want to appear to be "negative", do we? What absolute tosh! The club is successful on the pitch but it's still an absolute mess off of it. If you're happy with that, so be it ... I'm wouldn't be ...

Bit harsh Mike to say that its an absolute mess and incompetent.

As a club we have made some huge leaps forward from the past but it just goes to show that you can never sit still with any business and practices have to continually be looked at.

I agree the short comings should be disucssed and where possible propose solutions but i dont think constant sniping is particuarly helpful either.

I find it strange that individuals with genuine grievences about the club post their problems on here without , in these times of technology, sending e-mails to the club advising Mr King of the various problems they encounter.
The only way the club will know things are not right will be if someone employed by SUFC spend ages trawling the various topics but an e-mail directly to the club has got to be better.

So don't complain on here without letting the club know first , you know it makes sense.

I'm sorry to hear of your negative experiences with the ticket office.

When you raised them with Geoff King/Ron Martin how did they respond?

Sorry -- I didn't realise that I could no longer express opinions on this Forum. It must be a new directive, eh? No comments by foreigners ...

Unless you are completely stupid, you will of course know that I personally could not have had any experience of the ticket office this summer because I live in Spain. However, having been reading the many experiences of those who have, I feel that I can have an opinion on subject. And since I am living in sunnier climes, what would I personally achieve by contacting Ron Martin or Geoffrey King? But I can still have an opinion, eh? Now, are you going to complain about MY avatar / signature now?!

James, the 'Ear has been printed today - haven't forgotten my promise. PM the addy, and I'll get it out to you next week once I've snaffled a spare.

Sorry, I just assumed that only people who purchased tickets would be interested in the ticket office. I don't think that was a completely stupid assumption.

The ticket office has never been perfect (and will never be perfect) but I don't think people will ever post to say "I dealt with the ticket office and they were OK", therefore you only ever hear of the extremes. We now have maybe 3 times as many people being dealt with by the ticket office as we did 3 years ago. I think the club have been able to deal with the bigger attendances far better than they would have 3 years ago. Thats not to say that there is no room for improvement.

I'm a Southend United fan of 30-odd years (very odd on occasions) and the football club remains close to my heart even now I've emigrated to Spain. And that means I am still curious about the running of the club off the pitch. As co-founders of ShrimperZone, Scriv and I were occasionally summoned by Geoffrey King to answer various allegations on this website, normally searching for answers about various aspects of the running of the club. Often than not, our inquisitiveness produced results. I may now have handed over control to someone else (and they may continue to pursue the more controversial side of the club if they wish) but I still have a great interest in watching Southend United stumble along with its customer service. And maybe it will produce results for those who have had a torrid time at the hands of the ticket office this summer ...

People do quite often post on here when they have had no problems with ticket office
Often it is "I can't beleive it, no problems".... but all the same i have seen a good few posts commenting on the club when they have got things right, got things sorted etc
I honestly feel most people only complain when they feel they need to and it is justified.
I would personally LOVE to say that my beleoved southend excelled in every area - on the pitch, ticketoffice, clubshop and so on
