Is this our best Chance

Looking ahead to next season, does this year present a better chance than the next few seasons for us to gain promotion.

Based on the likely line up, I expect the folowing to be looking for promotion from league 1 next season, assuming Doncaster and Carlisle join the Swans.

Leeds
Forest
MK Dons
Peterborough
Col U
Southend
Scunthorpe
Leceister/Wednesday/Coventry

added to this there is likely to be a couple of suprise packages.....we could struggle big time to get out of this division....

Scunthorpe and Col U will pose little to no threat i'd imagine. Scunthorpe's best players, such as Patterson, are vying to jump ship and there's little money floating around. Col U are obviously not the richest at the moment, building their new shed.

MK Dons seem intent on building up slowly, but with Ince as manager they'll have no trouble in tempting talent their. Peterborough will splash the cash, but from what i've seen they're not a particularly good team at all.

Leeds/Forest will be Leeds/Forest and splash the cash in order to get out of here.

Leicester will have 9 different managers in the first 2 weeks after an indifferent start to the season.

Wednesday have no money and a poor squad.

Coventry won't go down.

I honestly believe that if we can keep the basis of the squad together and recruit another Centre Back (if Liptak is still 6 months away, 12 months after arriving) then we'll be up there next season.

I agree well said mate, keep the majority of our squad with a couple of additions and i think we will be challenging for promotion next season.

Now this is something thats puzzling me and I may have gotten the wrong end of the stick but how will we be able to keep the majority of the squad if so many of the first team are loan players.

I'm not criticising T&B as I realise loan signings are a necessary evil but if we manage to make the championship next season won't a large proportion of the first team return to their parent club?

Infact could someone be so kind as to lay out for me who we have permanently and who is on loan?

Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe we have a deal to sign Walker at the end of the season, Robson-Kanu ok i'll admit we probably wont have him next season unless we go for a long -term loan deal, we wanna sign Mulgrew but if we don't then thats only a couple of players we need to replace.
