Is this only fit for the Bin??

Aberdeen Shrimper

The Man who sold the world
The mother in law turned up the other Sunday with a typewriter that was knocking about in her house.....it is an Imperial Model 50 made around the 1930's as per pic.

It weighs over 17.5kg so no chance of posting it

Is it only fit for the bin??

hey you.... thats my typewriter that my folks cleared out my old room and gave me back on Sunday. I know we don't have room for it but surely its not just "fit for the bin"

I sold my old portable electric one at a boot sale last year. definitely don't bin it - someone somewhere will want it, if you can't be bothered to boot sale yourself and really don't want it, try offering it to a college or 6th form where there's an art department. Would be a great still life.

Not me mate, my husband's worse than me - cardboard boxes for everything that's come in one are all stored up in the attic, we used to have copies of FT share pages going back 20 years and every single wage slip and credit card receipt he's ever had! I have a small document box of sentimental things and that's it.

I've tried a similar tact to get rid of my rubbish but it turns out 6th formers aren't interested in drawing anything made of asbestos.
