Ireland V England

FWIW .I thought England Played well especially in the first Half. TTA was excellent throughout :Good to See Grealish back too
Great through ball from deep for Gordon (who should have scored - good save from Kelleher) ahead of the first goal. I noted that he can still give kittens at the back though - he played a very lazy, careless pass across the area towards the end that was intercepted by a RoI forward but luckily, it wasn't punished. And yes, I love Grealish's elan when he's bringing the ball forward with that graceful, almost balletic, movement. The post-match interview showed how much his dropping from the Euro 24 squad hurt him and it was great to see him enjoying the moment of his well-taken second goal - following those sweet one-touch passes with Declan Rice instrumental at each stage of the move that led to it.

England were fantastic in the first half but sloppy in the second.

Enjoyed Grealish’s comeback. His omission from the Euros has hopefully given him the kick up the backside he needed as he was poor last season.

Hopefully Carsley will get the job full-time. Giving it to someone else doesn’t make sense anymore.

As a side note I thought the majority of England fans were spot on with their behaviour before, during and after the game but you wouldn’t read that in the national rags would you?
FWIW, I Thought they kept their heads well (when for entirely logical reasons) the English national athem was loudly booed.

As someone who was in attendance in 1995, I was a little disappointed that our lads weren't a little more vigorous in their disdain for the hosts.
