I guess you have not bought a sim free phone before then. The only reasons mobiles are so cheap is that the mobile companies subsidise them to get you locked into a contract with them.

I was paying £35 for a contract which i have managed to match for a sim only deal which is now costing me £10 so after 10 months I would have paid off the cost of buying this phone and still be £25 a month better off.

I've never bought a phone with my own money first hand as it is. As long as it can call people, send texts to people, recieve calls and texts, I couldn't care less.

Just went on the itunes site - its amazing!!!! Well worth the money already just seeing the demo's So many function on it. Although be pretty ****ed off if i list it. Remains to be seen if its £300 odd quid sim-free or if apple are signing onto networks and its £300 on contract...to be continued

My point was that £257 is not that bad a price when you consider what other phones cost without the subsidy.

Steve - agreed after reading the Apple site, it would be interesting to see what happens over here and how this product is sold.

You seen the presentation video? Wish people gave me ‘whoops’ ‘cheers’ ‘whistles’ and ‘raptures applause’ when I do presentations at uni. Only in America, only in America.

I reckon the screen will be scratched to f**k in no time at all unless you carry it about in one of those leather cases clipped to your belt.......

.....and if you do that you negate one of the only reasons to buy any Apple hardware in the first place - aesthetics.
