Internet dropping out

Folks, the wireless on my laptop has started to drop off every hour or so - I've not altered any setting on either the laptop or router. I don't get this problem on any other device.....any ideas? I've googled the issue, but not had any joy in advice from there.

Cheers in advance.

Assume you have restarted router and laptop?

If so could be hardware on the laptop otherwise.

Laptop yes - not the router. I didn't think that's the issue as nothing else drops out. My laptop is still connected, but the internet connection is lost.

Ive had issues with routers before when only one device cant connect when everyone elise is fine. May well not help but for the sake of a restart worth doing for piece of mind.

Another thing to try, go into wifi settings and "forget" the connection and reconnect it from new.

If possible try laptop on another wifi to see whether its just your home one or all wifi it is failing.

If it does the same thing on all wifi points then could be the hardware.

Have a work laptop I may take home to see if it does the same thing. I need a new laptop anyway, my old one is dying and sounds like a Harrier Jump Jet taking off at times. Maybe the Wifi cutting out is a symptom of that.
