In the Ground Early

We really need to get that rocking atmosphere going right from the start today. Recently, I have been in the ground with half an hour to go before kick off. There are about 500 others in the ground as well as about 100 kids looking for autographs. Everyone comes in within 5 mins to kick off and it takes something to happen on the pitch before anyone starts singing etc. Last week at Barnsley, there was nowhere to go so we were all in the ground well before time and seeing the hoards come down that hill was brilliant. As we sang to them, they ran down to the turnstiles to get in. That is what caused such a great atmosphere inside the ground. Should we all try to get in the ground by 2.30 today so that we can create an atmosphere BEFORE kick off? I will be in and know that it only takes a few shepherds to get the sheep singing around me! Come you you blue boys!!!!

I will be creating my own disco with a can of tennents super on my way to the ground

usually arrive at the ground at about 2.30 but am thinking i might need to get there a bit earlier as parking has been shocking!

Lets get the ground rocking!

Ironic really, isn't it? The club (or rather Lights Entertainment) seem to think that blasting loud unnecessary music into the ether before kick-off will generate an atmosphere when it's blatantly clear from the multitude of posts on SZ that such attempts KILL the atmosphere before it has even started! I sincerely hope that those moles from the club that lurk on these means note the many complaints and get the PR people to tone down the pre-match music. Or better still, scrap it. Let the fans generate the atmosphere for once. Leave the PA system for team announcements and safety notices.

Absolute crap pre match build up from Southend today. We need someone to liven the crowd up before kick-off.

The first time the announcer spoke today was 25 mins before kick-off.

Not much of an atmosphere, we just can't/won't/don't make any noise at home.

Should be much better at Swansea 2,000 committed loyal supporters will make more noise than the 10,000 that were there today? (I don't normally buy all this glory hunter fan business and I'm glad to see Roots Hall full with whoever wants to be there, but today showed that the fans can create better atmosphere from smaller crowds).

Why do the club insist on telling us we have sold 10,500+ home tickets and then announce the attendance as 10,300!!!!! which includes away fans.

Very very true - and today was awful. Ok we played like a pile of cack, but the atmosphere was awful.

It was absolutely blasting out in the West Stand today

I couldnt hear anything the bloke standing next to me was saying

Ridiculous, from hardly hearing it, and it cutting out, to FULL ON COMPLETE DEAFNESS AT THE KICK OFF...
