Just after reading Macca's comments, the attitude of the players on Saturday, the reserves playing their hearts out... I dunno, maybe todays just going well so far and the fact I had a cracking egg mcmuffin has swayed me, but it feels like there's something in the air again at the Hall right now.

I'm not going to get TOO excited just yet as theres a few games to go, but it's really positive to hear your better players talking like this. Credit to the team behind the scenes for all this work - its paying off it'd seem...

are you getting the Fimbling feeling??

Lol...

Cautionary word. We had a good game against a poor team. If people now expect good performances from every game we will see even more angry supporters if we dont play as well as we did.

I think we have a good side and the signs have been there all season. We do have a confidence issue which wont be solved with one game. If we can string some decent performances and results together Im sure we can do well this season.

Oldham arent doing great but we are away so it wont be an easy game.

Certainly lots of reasons to be optimistic.

Agreed Jam man, we shouldn't get carried away by one win. We need to go a few games in the league unbeaten now, as that will do wonders for our shattered confidence and we may even start to see the nervous mistakes dwindle.

I definitely see a topsy turvy season with the obligatory "amazing player turning to toffee scenario and leaving inexplicably" and some terrible throwings away of a 2 goal lead, but I just feel the spirit feels good.

I get the feeling another cup run may be in order too for some reason...

Indeed, we're being spoilt for Carling Cup 'success' recently - we had a dismal record of first round exits until last season, and we have half a chance of nicking a result at Blackpool as well I'd say.

I think roller coaster ride may be the order for the season to come, where will it stop? many doom merchants on here lately, I look at the league table and see we only three points off play offs(yes my glass is always half full) it may not always be good but it is rarely dull at the hall

I'm not sure where this season is going, I simply don't know. But I do know that our team looks capable of getting in the playoffs and with a bit of luck even challenging for the league. Saying that, we could just as easily finish 12th, which wouldn't be a disaster by any means.

Southend are unpredictable, the lower leagues are unpredictable, it's one of the things that keeps me on the edge of my seat.

UTB!

I'll be honest, I didn't believe you, but checked him out on Soccerbase and you're spot on.

Oldest looking 23 year old since Arjen Robben?

Ridiculous. Next you'll be telling me that Emma Watson from the Harry Potter films is only 17...
