If...

Ok, I know I’m probably disillusioned and wearing rose tinted glassed, but hey, it’s my way of dealing with the current situation :)

IF...

- We can somehow avoid pay some of the debt, strike a deal to repay the remainder and avoid administration

- The Sainsbury’s plans get approved in November (on whenever the meeting is)

- This leads to Tilly bringing in 1 or 2 permanent and a few loans in Jan

- We keep hold of Barnard and he keeps banging them in at the same rate
Then I think we are looking good, and I’d think a play off place is definitely a possibility, and with some amazing luck (which maybe we are due???) we could be playing in the Championship this time next year with construction on Fossetts Farm well under way.

I prefer not to think about the alternative.

As impossible as all the above seems it is the way I am looking at the situation, until next Tuesday/Wednesday anyway... Isn’t what being a football fan is all about, being (sometimes) stupidly optimistic about your teams chances?

Remember – Nothing has actually happened yet, it is ALL if’s and but’s at the moment.

thats some first class optimism there!!
i have refrained from passing judgement on current events, preferring to see what will we be. and trying to hope for the best, we shall see....
as far as play offs go, yeah its possible but i think that would involve some inspired singings, am loving the current squads 100% endeavour lately, but think that a decent mid table position is something we should be more then happy to take given the current position/personel, at the club. to be brutally honest in terms of quality compared to the squad that was there in our championship season, we arent close, but as long as our players are playing to their max potential and giving their all for southend, i cant complain, and as a unit were certainly better then a lot of teams in this league, just maybe a few million short of the top 6

I can see us winning the league, the 16 point deficit can easily be overhauled to put my pre-season prediction back on track. Tilly's teams traditionally achieve amazing success after the New Year and i have been very pleased to see so many points on the table already in this campaign.
About that time Leeds will have their seasonal wobble and just miss out whilst i see Charlton have started to wobble already.
Colchestaaaaargh traditionally start well (remember where they were last season to begin with) then fade away like a bad fart escaping the room (look where they ended up).

We have our very own version of Rory Delap back at left-back and we have the best right-side pairing in the league in Francis and Laurent along with a goalscoring machine upfront.

I really like this thread, i only see positives me!

I think till should try and get freddy on-loan for the rest of the season in january i no , i no we cnt afford the 14,000 a week payign rate for him BUT!! at an average of round about 7-8 thousand each home game ... if we were to make a fund... (freddy fund) and we were to chuck a bit of money in a bucket about 2 quid ish a game i think we could have him .... whats your thoughts ?
