If you could replace on part of your body....

The Business
What would you go for....

Personally I would go for my knees. They have both been shot too bits since I was 17 and as a result I havent been able to plat football since.

I think they would just edge out some new eyes as my eye sight aint great.

What would you go for?

Get your eyes lasered Dave, absolutely pain free and pretty amazing. My eyesight was pretty dreadful now I've got pilot's vision (or so I'm told).

As for body reshaping - I guess it'll be my hooter which is pretty large, but I've made a pact with myself that I'd never have a nose job.

Pilots vision? Give it a rest, I have a CAA class 1 medical, and I wear glasses.

:)

Lol, don't shoot the messenger! Just what I was told by my optician.

As for cost, it was £2K when I had it done by it's come down dramatically. I think you can get it done for about £650 these days.

Time of work - 2 days? Have the op which takes literally minutes, sleeping pills for the rest of that day (not for the pain because there isn't any, just to help healing) and back to the surgery next day just to check everything's ok.

You have to sleep with eye patches on for 2 weeks so you don't inadvertantly rub your eyes, but that's about it.

I would have to say both of my feet would love to great footballers feet, Beckham's Right and Giggs Left! I would be the best player in the world. :D

How long does it last?

The Op itself? Literally minutes, no more than 5.

The surgeon clamps your eyes open ala A Clockwork Orange, puts in some anathestic drops and then a device which cuts a tiny flap in your eyeball (trust me totally pain free). The surgeon lifts the flap with a scalpel, the laser then does it's bit (lovely smell of burning flesh....) and I was lasered for 29 seconds. The surgeon puts the flap back, and then does the other eye.

If you're cacking it, they give you some tranqs to calm you down, but trust me, it was utterly painless. I've been in greater pain after eating a choc-ice too fast.

****ting ****! That sounds horrible!

Slip, it's totally pain free! I no longer have to fiddle around with contacts or wonder wear I put my specs when they were balanced on my bonce :D

I am so glad I have perfect vision. Although after my Jade is better than beyonce comments I think some will beg to differ.

I would replace my somewhat awkward and invasive 12" pork sword with a sleeker 10" one.

Thanks, but I was more wondering on if you would need to go back for another operation in the future and if your eyesight would start to get worse again.

I think I would have to go for not having flat feet, as this has ****ed up my ankles and knees. I would take just getting new knees though. I just dont want to have to stop playing football when I am in my 20's because of them

the early indications are that you probably would IIRC... your eyes still continue to naturally deteriorate and so having it repeated is common i think.

because it is a relatively new procedure the long term benefits and still hazy (pardon the pun) and so to be honest it isn't something i would have done just of yet... although no one would deny the short term benefit is has for many people

one thing i would add is that i don't know any opthalmologists or many opticians who have had laser surgery... they all wear their glasses!

I'm going to be a follower of fashion and have a new nose, but an even bigger one than the fella I have now (This baby can turn a corner 5 minutes before the rest of my face).
I have calculated that if the surgeons remove two of my chins, there will plenty there to give me the nose I truly require.
Also big long fingers like Yorkshire blue has would be nice.
