....how would you like it be done?

Watching West Ham's farewell to Upton Park* last night got me wondering how we'd want to say goodbye to Roots Hall in the event of us ever leaving (no laughing at the back).

Obviously, West Ham have a lot more money to splash around than us and have won the World Cup, but we'd still want to say goodbye to the old place in some sort of style. Just maybe not as excruciating as that last night.

So, fire away. Project yourself forward to the year 2041 and, assuming no great budget, how would you want the club to orchestrate the #farewelltorootshall?

*Boleyn Ground my arse. Its official name maybe, but no ****er ever called it that

Osei Sankofa in a hard hat with a sledge hammer being the first to start the knocking down process.

You're joking and that's still a better idea than West Ham interviewing Marlon Harewood and Anton Ferdinand.

I want to see us parade our league one and play off trophies then a man in a balaclava and a sawn off shotgun runs on the pitch and tries to steal them, but it's all part of the show and the balaclava is removed to reveal Ricky Otto who takes the mic and does a rap about his time at Roots Hall.

It seems to be a new tradition to invite Man Ure down, and attack the coach. I don't see any reason to break with that.

I'd dig up the pitch and look for the war chest. I'd be rich tells ya, rich!

I'd like to see a post match party straight after the last match. Literally, like a house party. Once the match is over, everyone on the pitch, fire up some music and get the booze flowing, maybe a BBQ.

We could set light to Ron's wig. It'll burn for years.

Anything except the choreographed nonsense of last night. Also, saying goodbye to a ground is not about the players (although I can see why it was tough to turn down the lure of interviewing such football greats as Harewood and Anton Ferdinand) but the supporters. They are what make a football ground what it is. Basically I would just let the fans on, let them mingle, swap stories, get a feel for the place one last time and let them take their own souvenirs.

But in the modern sanitised football world, I seriously doubt this would happen.

Fans should definitely be allowed on the pitch.

This is mostly a light hearted thread, but a serious point is what they had at Upton Park last night wasn't about the fans and it should have been. I appreciate allowing everyone on to the field would have been difficult with a crowd of that size, but they ought to have been more inclusive.

I just want to have Dale Winton interviewing Zoltan Liptak and Drewe Broughton. The perfect send off.

We should also have Alvin Martin in the stocks and winners of the draw get to throw rotten vegetables at him at half time. We sell a record number of tickets

Maybe turn it into a celebrity Supermarket Sweep. They have 10 minutes to get:

5 yellow seats
5 black seats
1 corner flag
1 trophy
1 crossbar
500g of onions
