I dont know just asking the question, at the rate of time its taking to seal Anthony Grant we have no chance of getting anyone signed and sealed in next 72 hours

Thought it was like midday Friday for permanent signings? And later for loans? Hence why that summer we signed Paynter we signed him on loan so he could play in the first game as it was too late to register a permanent signing.

I think your right, I remember Sodje being signed on loan so he could play Vs Oldham then signed permenatly afterwards.

That's right he only joined up with the squad around 2am on the day of the game IIRC. Thought it was Blackpool not Oldham but it was dreary gaff up North either way.

I think you can sign a player on loan up until midday on the saturday and have him available for the 3pm kick-off. We've done that a few times in the past (Sodje & Dudfield being the two examples that spring to mind)

Did we not sign Billy Paynter the night before the Stoke game 2 years ago or was that originally on loan so he could play ?
