If we still had Freddy Eastwood .....

If we still had Freddy , where do you think we would be in the table now ?

I couldn't make Gillingham but from what I've heard/read he'd have had a hat-trick .

In fact there are so many p1ss poor defences in this league I think he 'd be past the 15 goal mark by now and we'd be coasting .

Let's not forget the extra experience he's gained since he last played at this level

Last year he had no decent support and against better defences understandably struggled a bit no matter how many lost causes he chased .

In League 1 he could even afford to be 'lazy ' (not my desciption ) and would still be banging them in .

Every striker likes to be scoring goals and he would be lovin' it !

Depends if he got off his arsh and followed the balls into the box, won't score too many 25yd crackers, even at this level!

Wolves fans seem to like him and they aren't the easiest to please - they thought LeonC was a t0sser

Been on their messageboard The Wolf for quite a while now and the love has died out a bit now,no suprise really when their super-hero was the all-action Steve Bull. Those two are worlds apart.

before i vote, is this the freddy we had before manu or after lol

Had the question been "If we still had Freddy and he was up for it..." I would've said play-offs or automatic but that was not the question so I plumped (not a reference to Ricketts) for top-half as we are now.

For goodness sake. He's in the past.

Lets forget about all these 'If's with Eastwood' and lets start looking forward to what will happen in the future. His heart was no longer in it & he moved. It's happened lets deal with it, not dwel on it.

All these threads are starting to get rather boring now.

Well if we say enough nice things about him it might tug at his heart strings when he reads this and he might be in the future as well

Simple answer for you then JS , any thread you see with Eastwood in the title don't open , then hey you wouldn't need to get the hump ;)

People still look back on the lad with fond memories and i am one of them , yes he has moved on and so have we but this is a message board where people can talk about anything southend related past and present .

We'd be there or thereabouts, no question. Freddy would've had a hatful both against Oldham and Gillingham in recent games, but do agree it would depend which Freddy we were talking about.

I think the problem with Freddy wasn't so much it all going to his head and he was becoming lazy, as it was going to his team-mates' heads.

Freddy was never the hardest worker, preferring to 'save his energy for when it mattered', what changed was that his team-mates thought all they had to do was give it to Freddy and sit-back and wait to trot back to the centre-circle for kick-off. Our attacks became one-dimensional and when Freddy had the ball we had a distinct lack of off-the-ball movement which Freddy needed in order to give him half a chance of beating 4 or 5 men and putting it in the top corner from 25 yards.
