So, once again the Premier League want to take more away from the lower leagues......there's a surprise! Just read that the Premier League want to stage some games on fridays now. This will just mean that the lower leagues get even less fans through the turnstiles on a friday. I think it is a disgrace. Maybe the League chairman will get a vote.......I doubt it?? I guess it will be tuesdays for Premier League as well soon. I'll tell you what, why don't we just allow them to play every day of the week, so it swear filters it up for all the lower league teams!

You seem a tad surprised. Surely you realise that English football doesn't exist outside of the premiership and clubs such as ours are just a name on a map from a bygone age. When we along with all the others disappear then they will be happy and you will be spending your Saturday shopping.

Hang on, I think it would be great for us if a couple of London Prem teams played on a Fri eve, I think a lot of people would watch it on Sky at home or in the pub then might bring their kids along to watch us on the Sat

Seeing as we all complained about the amount of Friday games last season and the fact it didnt help attendances anyway, do we really care?

Surely this thread is a wind up. I'm expecting MrsBlue to hijack it with repetitive Jason Williams upfront comments.

Is Jason allowed out after 7pm, would his mum allow us to play him on a Fri eve ? I heard that he is young and hungry so she feeds him up on a Fri night which makes him pacey on a Sat afternoon, poor lad will never go on to play in the Prem if this proposal goes through...Murdoch OUT !!!!!!!!

There have not been many Friday games in the Football League this season. Although I like Southend home games on a Friday, the days when we used to get bigger crowds on Fridays have now sadly gone.

The Friday proposal is a move being made to try to hold off the switch to broadcasting 3pm Saturday kick-offs. Essentially some of the TV companies (cable rather than Sky I think) are kicking off that people in other countries get to watch more English football than people in England do. They say that this is unfair on us all and amounts to discrimination. The Friday matches will be a further set of fixtures which fans in England will be able to watch which previously would have been blacked-out for TV.

I would never miss a home match simply because a Premership match was live on television. Lets face it most of the teams are not great to watch anyway and who would want to watch the likes of Hull playing West Brom?

Premiership footaball on a Friday night ? Bring it on ... always have trouble going to sleep when we are playing the next day!

Yes, I can see how that Tottenham Chelsea game must have seemed a bit flat after our matches against Burton and Daggers.
