I Miss You

Saturday afternoon, exactly this time usually i would be stood/sat in a terrace somewhere in the uk, cheering on the mighty blues, singing my head off, drinking my head off and looking forward to a night out in a strange town

But instead im stuck at work waiting for a new season to begin so i can have saturdays off again, here goes a long summer!

Come back football season i miss you :'(

I thought it was only me missing the season already, which is strange as it has only been a week. I think the fact that for 3 months the feeling is "the last time we played, we got battered" is tough. I cant wait for preseason! Being mid exams makes it seem even worse. I always give myself saturdays off from work since I have been at Uni, as wheather I am at the football or not, its the blues who come first. What do I do now? Revise? I did a couple of hours this morning, but it feels so hard because it is a saturday!! Ahhhh

cant love anything the way i do sufc, just ask the wife!

Just finished reading Adrian Chiles' book about West Brom after taking it on holiday. Laugh out loud funny on at least 25 occasions where his behaviour mirrors that of mine in respect of being a Shrimper (feelings I'm sure are common amongst the majority on here too!)

An even better book than Fever Pitch was, although slightly similar in concept!

11 weeks & counting.....

Whats it called mate, might have to invest in that?

Doh, sorry, should have posted that.
It's called We Don't Know What We're Doing and is labelled as "Adventures with the extraordinary fans of an ordinary team"

It made me think, if Slipper's book goes down well whether his publishers would let him do a similar one that was SUFC related, especially as we're getting reputations as such loyal & vocal fans!

I'm incredibly bored this afternoon, closed seasons always are. at least we have the euro's i know no brittish clubs to follow but at least they'll still be some footy on the tele.

I never really noticed that Saturday afternoon telly is rubbish without the footie before.

Still, couple of good movies on later (namely Shrek).

Just enjoyed a layabout in the garden listening to my new cheap radio, bought for that purpose. Quite a nice day outside actually.

I know the feeling _ i have got so desperate for footie I have just been watching the championship playoffs and found myself supporting bristol City - I even watched the man u v southend game the other night- aaah that was a night to remember - can't wait for August 9th

Bit different for me here in Turkey. Saturday afternoon scouting the football bars, find one that has a pc and gillette soccer sat, with plenty of Efess beer. Now only the sunshine and the beer, sigh. Still european champ coming up, o no forgot we are not in it, roll on next season.

im glad for a bit of time off tbh as it was getting a exhausting but give me a week or two I'm sure i'll be counting down the days until we start pre-season.

Am I the only one who not that bothered by the end of the season?

No. As I wrote in another thread of a similar nature, I'm quite thankful for the break because, as passionate as I am about the Blues and footie in general, being a fan really does become stressful at times.

I got so engrossed in the Champions League final on Wednesday that I actually struggled to sleep for several hours that night - and I was watching the game as a neutral!
