I know it won't happen.....

....due to Tilly's unquestionable loyalty but does anyone else think Efe should be brought back in tonight to mark Earnshaw? I really do fear we're gonna be ripped apart for pace this evening. I know Clarkey's quickish but IMHO I'd much rather have Efe on Earnshaw tonight now that he's proved he's fully fit.

Sooner or later I'm sure it'll be a Sodje/Clarke prtnership, very very harsh on Barrett but I do feel they would make a great pair and give us not only pace from both but also good aerial ability and a fine reading of the game.

Another note on Earnshaw, There have always been question marks over his weight and fitness and although i read he has worked hard over the summer to lose weight and indeed has done, You can't take away from the fact int he last 2 weeks he's played 4 Games... 2 for Norwich and 2 for Wales. I'd be very surprised if he played the full 90 minutes tonight at Little ol' Southend.

I know what you mean but I think we've seen what Clarke is capable of - he does a good job of organising the back 4 IMO and if he and Adam are firing on all cylinders tonight I think we'll be OK. Would be a big ask to bring Efe back in tonight and expect him to do a job on Earny.

I too would like to see Sodje back in the team along side Clarke as I feel this is perhaps our strongest partnership at the back in terms of pace and height but I also think that Tilly will go for the same starting eleven that faced Sheff Wed last Saturday.

As you say, barring an injury to Barret it would indeed be very harsh on the guy to be dropped in favour of Sodje but those are the kind of decisions a manager has to make and I'm sure Tilly will have no hesitation in making them if it benefits the team.

Earnshaw may not be playing tonight as there has been a problem at Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory and he will be required by his main employer (said Mr Wonka) to ensure that the choccy backlog is cleared, and that production is put back on schedule.

Cant drop Barrett, has been our best defender this season. Think Efe will have to wait his turn. Think the key is to stop Earnshaw getting the service from midfield, though I have to say I think he is one of the most overrated players in this division. He is good no question but he misses a lot of chances as well.

I disagree I poersonally think Earnshaw's one of the best in the Championship and may well lead us a merry dance tonight.

Think you could, unfortunately, be right AD. Plus with Huckerby out, I doubt they will be able to drop/sub Earnshaw at all.

I think our performance will depend on how well Gutts and Maher do. If they do well then the strikers get more service and defenders less pressure. Gutts is yet to prove himself at this level.

I feel that Sodje is definitely part of our strongest team but I wouldn't change my back four on the back of a clean sheet unless there were obvious problems and with Sheffield Wednesday barely getting in our box, I think the central two must have done something right.

Earnshaw's a quality player who scores all sorts of goals at every level of football. For a short guy he's great in the air, his one-on-one finishing is excellent and he has the potential to score audacious long range efforts. We think Eastwood's good but from what I've see, Earnshaw's still streets ahead.

I agree with Fred although I think it's more that Gutts has to offer more threat going forwards. As soon as he scores his first goal, I reckon his season will be kickstarted.

A couple of Norwich fans i know reckon earnshaw is a great player but does not perform against little teams!
suppose he will have a great game as we are not a little team anymore

what about playing lewis hunt, he's pacey. play francis at centre back he is by far our fastest defender.

I agree with SUFCINTHEPREM.. clean sheet at home does not lend itslef to dropping a central defender.. Sodjes time will come, he will have to be patient and wait for dips in form or injuries, both of which are pretty much inevitable..

Are you going to the game?

Or will you be watching it on teletext again due to the fact you think that paying £20 to watch our games is too steep
