I hope we have a plan B!

I can hear all the Doomsters warming up their Keyboards!

In the Management team and COSU we must have trust! Remember 5 months!!

Short term hit but having spoken to Justin at the game a couple of weeks ago there is a lot going on in the background.

Be patient and the aim this season is not to get relegated IMO!

Come on the Blues!!

We was hoping that our problems are behind us, we currently have 4 strikers at the club with a sum total of 3 goals between them (correct if wrong)
This situation is quite worrying, as we are supposed to be a professional football club...

I’d hope the aim isn’t ‘not to get relegated’ .. we should go for the play offs til they’re mathematically out of reach and I’m sure the players think similar. Bim is leaving us, but now’s a good opportunity for others to step up as I mentioned in another post. We’re still in a position where we can play strikers up front and not defenders (remember Brooklyn up top at Barnet away?!) and I’d be shocked if we weren’t trying to bring in another striker right now. In time for Saturday? 🤔..

Some problems are behind us, but they get replaced by other, new problems or problems that were previously insignificant given the **** we was in. Also depends on glass half full or empty.

Boardroom problems were a given, but problems pitch side wasn't something we were expecting this season, I think some of us are in shock how bad things have been, hopefully things will be ok but failing to prepare you are preparing to fail ..

I guarantee you this will be the same discussion next season and we will keep kicking the can saying oh the following season it'll be better.

A true case of "this time next year we will be millionaires"
I'm significantly less negative than some, and am staying patient, but I am also tired of having to wait for jam tomorrow.

We waited for the takeover, we waited for January, we continue to get more bad news than good. It must irritate COSU and Maher as much as us though.

I’ve found it really interesting reading all posts over the last 6 months.

And been really surprised at how folk assumed that new owners would mean we just 4 seasons the Premier League.

The problems the club has are so extensive, and difficult to solve. I cannot realistically see us promoted for at least another 2 seasons.

The problems faced are cultural and operational. They run through the club from top to bottom.

There is no easy fix nor magic wand.

I consult for enterprises. Helping them turn around failed technology departments.

So I can say this with a high of confidence

Collectively we need to temper our expectations. And get behind the team.

I don't think any of us thought we were going to steamroller this league straight away, but the reverse gear that the blues have been in so far, has caused the rift in opinions. If we had a few more positives in our play, I don't think the response would be as bad.
As I said halfway through our season, and our strike force has scored 3 goals ain't great.

Great Post!

This is a Multi year project!

If it was a company that had been run into the ground over the course of 5 years it would take at a reasonable guess to take the same time to turn it around!

Seriously. At what point do we stop talking about the rat legacy, delayed take over, league clubs unwilling to let players go etc.

Yes we get it. 5 months isn't that long, but come on. Are we still going to be throwing this out in 2 seasons time.

We had a pre season this year. We have signed players, Moncur and Bonne are no doubt high earners and we're completely against the type of player we were told we were going to sign.

We here that John still is watching 5 games per week scouting.

Are you seriously telling me that there isn't any talent in our own league on lower wages, or in the national south/North that are no better than some of our first team under achievers.

It's nonsense. There are bundles of class players in and around the South East who would give the left gonad to play pro football infront of 7k. The sort of players that literally cost 20k.

Where is the next GSM, Morton, Waldron.

We can't afford older players who's legs have gone. It's a Phil brown move.

We can't get players in on loan with a view to a perm signing apparently.

We cant sign lower league players apparently.

Who can we sign?

What is the point of having a legendary scouting team if they are literally doing nothing.

Other clubs are constantly signing players, and I'm not talking about FGR and York. Those with smaller budgets are also signing the right players.

Unfortunately football isn’t an exact science and full of extraneous factors. Getting in 20+ strikers isn’t simple, every club wants one. We had one this morning.

We are five points worse off than this time last season and there’s a long way to go. Perspective is seemingly in short supply.

Quite a few of us have been expecting this day to come.... the taxi has arrived from Luton for Bim.
What now, we should have a plan B ready
and waiting to go, but seeing DW only get 3 mins on Saturday, I don't think we have one....I hope I'm wrong.
When the taxi arrives for a player, there’s only one man to call… What’s the Plan B, Shrimpet?

Turn around are multi year things but on the pitch the project was started over three years ago.

This season we suffered a setback losing our spine but the expectation should be that we are in contention next season (I appreciate that we won’t necessarily get promoted the first season we’re in contention).

plan B will be to sign a replacement striker which I’m sure we will do. But Bim only left at ****ing lunchtime so it’s no surprise we haven’t made a signing yet. You can’t really use Bim’s departure as another stick to beat Maher and COSU with. There’s no big catastrophe or surprise here- we had a kid on loan, an unknown who WE scouted as having potential, he did well and scored some goals and now his parent club, realising his stock is not going to get higher before his I contract expires, wants flog him. Disappointing but we move on
