I can accept defeat.......

DTS

The Business
I can accept defeat and being out played no problems - Its part and parcel of the game and especially Southend. When we lost 4-0 to Brum you have to sit back and say fair call they are a top top side at this level.

What I cannot accept is being out fought and yesterday with the possible execption of Clarke,Bradders and Hammell I thought we were totally spineless. I am stuggling to think of a more incompetent and less lacklustre first half than I saw yesterday.

I wonder if the player realise how much that defeat hurts as personally short of cutting me open I dont think I could feel more wounded right now.

It reminded me of the dark days of Alvin Martin with a load of journeyman footballers pulling on the shirt without a care for SUFC.

All I can say as a slight consolation is its no worse than we did to them last season.

Football is a funny game and you never know we might go to Preston and get something unexpected and then we are back where we all thought we might be now. In reality and for the first time for me I think I have to admitt were look dead and buried. The worst thing is we have gone down without a once of fight in the past 2 games.

Just watched the first goal on Sky Plus. **** knows what Sodje thought he was doing. We caved in mentally after that terrible early blow. We need teams around us to lose today and if so it might give us some enthusiasm for Monday.
I would lke to see Barrett in and Foreskin go up front with Freddy. Has to be worth a try instead of god awful Bradbury.

Indeed - however, if you put Bradbury in that sentance... Can't he be dropped or subbed?

He was clearly one of the better players yesterday. I frankly am baffled at the idea that he should be dropped. Seems like for every 10 fans at a match you'll get 11 opinions about the game and the value of each player.

Totally agree with all the above. Feel really gutted that I've paid out money for Barnsley, Luton and Southampton tickets because before yesterday I thought the Management players and supporters were up for the fight in staying up. Now its apparent that only we the supporters are prepared to go down fighting and the management and players are rolling over. There not much wrong with our approach play and build up but where it goes wrong is in the last third where Eastwoods movement down the channels is non exsistant. He preferes to wait till he gets the ball into his feet and then goes off on one of his mazy runs which sometime produces a goal. But having no movement and being our only striker at the club capable of scoring this makes him very easy to mark and i'm sure has put off prospective buyers

SB...I was asked yesterday if I fancied driving a car pool up to Preston on Monday...needless to say, it took me a little while to think about that response! (and before anybody comes back with 'disloyal' jibes, I was at Chester away when Mark Prudhoe was in goal, so leave off!!).

Despite my sarcasm, I am ashamed to say I woke up this morning actually giving consideration to the idea!
