I'm sure it's just the way the....

I certainly didnt get the impression Freddy wants to commit for any longer then he has too. By the looks of it we may have to sell him come the end of the season......or keep him for another year and let him go on a free......tough call but I think cash would be needed at the end of this season.

I would be surprised if he signs another contract with us tbh. He has given us 3 years come the end of this season and who can begrudge him the opportunity to play in the prem? Just as long as we make a few quid from it!

Yet another post from AD who appears to have some infatuation with Freddy and his future.

We all know that if he doesn't go in January (which Ron has made clear that he won't be) then it will be very likely at the end of the season. If he stays longer than that then we are very lucky i feel.

Can we just leave it there with Eastwood and his future?

Good call DS, even if he were to go we can look back fondly on the goals that fired us up two divisions and

*warp spasms into XS for a moment*

he's done a hell of a lot more for the club than Collymore ever did.

Oooh, did I say that!

Fully agree. We need him to stay until the end of the season but if he's in no rush to re-sign we MUST sell him in the summer.

ON the pitch yes I'd agree with that given the length of time he's been here but bear in mind Stan made us an eventual £4m+ which was clearly invaluable to the club and that shouldn't be understated.

Was it? I would love to see a break down of where that money went. Apart from a fancy new lift for Mr. Jobson, I'm not sure I can point to anything that acrued from that £4m.

Where it went isn't Stan's fault, is it?

Let's say Fredy goes (Hope not!) and we nett £2.5 big ones.

If that money went on a £1 million striker, £750,000 midfielder and £750,000 centre half (these are just examples) would it then have been good business?

Most of which apparently went on that nice lift in the East Stand that means that those poor directors don't have to climb the stairs anymore (when it works) ...

As Rob said that's not Stan's fault is it - fact is his sale eventually landed the club £4m+ in total (after promotion, 25 goals, an England cap etc).....what Jobson decided to blow it on is irrelevant.

Quite agree, AD - but you did say:

and that was my point of disagreement.

OK I'll rephrase it as COULD have been invaluable to the club had Jobson decided to use the cash to good effect.

Although having said that we did sign a LOT of players the following season that may have taken us into the Premier League had Fry not buggered off at Xmas and, although not a vast percentage of Stan's fee, I doubt we'd have been able to do that had Collymore not been sold.

But £350k for Gary Poole....dear oh dear
