HT - what a prize plonker

* ORM *

Still Loves Emma Bunton. Roy McDonough is God!
Bought this person on 23/7 for £36K and sold him on 28/7 for £100K.

I bought him to cover an injury, not to day-trade, listed him for 30K and got pleasantly surprised.

Playmaking: wretched Passing: wretched
Winger: weak Defending: weak
Scoring: excellent Set Pieces: passable

Career Goals: 2
Career Hattricks: 0
League goals this season: 0
Cup goals this season: 0

Ever since then (almost 2 months) the person that bought him from me has had him listed in virtually every position under the sun for an asking price of £132,667.

He's a level 4 out of 11 Dutchman (so he is no newbie) who is obviously really p%&sed off ? Why doesn't he just cut his losses ?

Do you think I should send him a 'helpful' message

Well that was a real bite in the bum - checking HT this morning and finding out only 1 supporter signed up today ! WTF ?

I must be shopping in the wrong markets....
1) No one tends to pay up for an old player
2) Always get bargains in unsocial hours somewhere along the line
3) set a budget and stick to it and dont get into a bidding war - for every player you miss there are 20 others available
4) Bought an 18yo solid defender bought for 36K yesterday

Am I a prize plonker for signing this fella for 12k?

Quote[/b] (Hong Kong Blue @ Sep. 22 2005,17:30)]Seems a decent enough signing for a PM or wing trainer.
Agreed - As long as you are training PM or wing you'll get a decent enough return on this one within 2-3 seasons.

Patience is the key.

I spent months only able to sign 17/18/19 yo no better than passables with the very occassional solid. Then I moved onto 17/18 yo only solids with the occassional excellent or taking a young passable with high TSI on the probability that a pop was pending. I'm now onto buying excellents and solids with decent TSI and I'm on the verge of a foray into the formidable world for the first time.

The biggest problem I see is people running before they can walk.It has taken me nine months to get to this stage and I probably wasted the first couple of months due to inexperience. The amount of players I thought were centre-backs and wing-backs but turned out to be something I wasn't training.

Worst thing now is that it's only in the last couple of months that I've got a real nose for the worth and true meaning of TSI, particularly if you focus on primary skills only, but the HT world now seems to be entering into a debate on the positive merits of secondary skills.

He is fine for playing on the wing muse just make sure he plays either every league game or every friendly

Duh? Either they had defending and wing or didn't? I don't see how it's physically possible to make that mistake!

I was young, I was green and didn't check the skills properly.

There are hundreds of players listed in positions other than their true position. Learnt the lesson soon enough !

Oh and I'm not proud of my stupidity and not shy to admit my mistakes. This is the person that realised only comparitively recently that when the tide goes out at Southend it goes OUT and not over to Kent as I was told when I was a kid and believed for over 30 years.

Orm,
What did your folks say when you were paddling off the beach as a kid & you said look at the brown fish mum/dad ?
did they not tell you it was the turds floating down from london or did they assume you had shat your self ?
I stopped paddling off southend when I was about 6 when I saw a **** float passed after that it was walton or clacton for me !

He just won't give up. Listed AGAIN for 130K - why will he not just cut losses and list for about 30K ?

I sold this muppet from my YT for £667

Wow ! After God knows how many relists at £130K he has finally bitten the bullet and listed the player for 0.

Someone has already bid £667 for him.

Bugger me - someone has just counterbid as I typed this with £1,334 and he doesn't sell for 2 more days.
