HT Week 7

MrB

Life President
I'm 1-0 up against a team that fielded 221 hatstats in their last game and has a 524k TSI England midfielder! Not to mention an U-20 one as well.

If it lasts I'll be amazed.

Comfortable 4-0 stroll for me against a no-hoper to keep me 4th. I saved most of my best players for Tuesday night's HT Cup match with MTS

It lasted! His excellent midfield obviously couldn't deal with my poor one!

Takes me to 11 points which already looks enough to get me a qualifier minimum and I could yet avoid that entirely.

Won 2-1 away from home with a guy pulling 100 Hatstats for his defence alone. Game on!

47*, 174 Hatstats - not too bad really!

Lost 3-1 to my main challenger. Did not help that during picking my lineup the servers seemed to slow down to a snails pace, so was unable to change my team after screwing up the lineup originally. So played a youth pull on the wing towards middle instead of my world class IM who was suspended last week.

Oh well still top but need to win the return match next week.

Draw 3-3 with 2nd placed team? - The league table is currently unavailable, probably because of some delay. If most other tables in your league are OK, please report this to a GM. If most of the tables in your league are unavailable like this, it is probably just a delay and will be fixed within a day or two. If it doesn't please report to a GM

It's pretty obvious really, but being a striker trainer has its drawbacks.  Where you can be training 10 defenders a week - thereby finding yourself a string of 5* and 6* players across the back - I am limited to training 6 forwards a week.

suspect.gif

I can also plead the indifferent form of my squad.  The best form player at the moment has been the defender I signed on Christmas Day - who has rapidly become a bit of an SUFC legend... 5-5.5* pretty much every time he pulls on the shirt.  Cannae grumble with that.

Time for my forward line to start pulling a touch more than 14* between them though.  With one world class (shortly to pop to supernatural), a second recently popped to world class and one brilliant (shortly to pop to magnificent), I should be getting 15.5-16* for my forward line every time out...

P.S. I did start the season with 49* and a 191 rating, so something ain't quite right...

My defenders have all been steady 5.5-6 stars since shifting to maginificent which has helped. Having two with decent wing really helps the wing defense ratings too. However I've only got 4 players who've advanced that far having had a clearout of trainees last season to buy the toilet. Fortunately my 4 remaining stars have maintained decent form.

I'll be switching to wing training mixed with passing soon to make myself a really annoying counter attacker. Should see a pretty rapid improvement of my ratings as at the moment I have, erm, no wingers at all!

¿Que?

As for me, as soon as my main man pops to supernatural (in the next couple of weeks), he'll be on the market. I should hopefully get £2m for him - pretty standard for supernatural strikers, especially one who has scored 11 already this season.

That will give me a war-chest of c. £3m to get a top-notch keeper and a decent winger. Game on.

Matt

After selling my first 2 Outstanding defenders I spalshed out a club record transfer fee on a new Outstanding striker

Yohann Dorignac (46494452)
22 years, solid form, healthy
A popular guy who is temperamental and dishonest.
Has poor experience and disastrous leadership abilities.

Speciality: Quick

Nationality:  Schweiz
Total Skill Index (TSI):   6 140
Wage:  1 776 £/week  including 20% Bonus
Owner:  Quackers
Warnings:  0
Injuries:  Healthy

Stamina:    excellent   Goalkeeping:    disastrous
Playmaking:    inadequate   Passing:    weak
Winger:    weak   Defending:    poor
Scoring:    outstanding   Set Pieces:    poor

Career Goals:   51
Career Hattricks:   5
League goals this season:   4

Unfortunately he didn't score in his first game despite it being against the bottom team. But he did get 4 stars whilst PICing it so i'm sure it won't be long until he finds the onion bag!

Jurjen van de Loo
TSI = 40 670 , 25 years, solid form
Has weak experience and weak leadership abilities [Head]

Stamina: inadequate Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: weak Passing: passable
Winger: passable Defending: passable

Drew 2-2 against a team that just became a bot.

Wing back got sent off early in the game which didn't help. Looking like a qualifier will be needed now to try to maintain Div V status.
