Is anyone feeling I little down today looking at the football League first day Fixtures wishing out team was there. And not looking at Barnet and Oldham seeing who their playing

No, it didn't happen for us, absolutely gutted afterwards but we gave it our all, thoughout the play offs and the final. Just wasn’t to be so It's onwards and upwards for me. Really looking forward to the coming season. I am hopeful the COSU driven renaissance thoughout the Club will underpin a successful season that ends with promotion out of the NL. Yes we do need to strengthen, I don't believe as much as some think and I am certainly not as worried as some are by perceived non activity on the recruitment front. Let the Club go about its business in it's own way and I am sure there's plenty going on but it’s just not in the public domain, yet!
I know some of our fanbase are as impatience as a Nun awaiting a pregnancy test but these are good times to be a Shrimper again.

I realise money is important to players especially in the lower leagues like ours but if i was a player in the NL and Southend came calling i would jump at the chance just as long as the maybe drop in wages wasnt too big, it can be offset with bonuses etc . This has to be a club in the NL that is very attractive to a lot off decent players

I felt a bit bitter earlier when reading about how that lovely young chap who scored the Oldham winner is now all over the media for throwing a chair at an old couple by a pool in Ibiza & generally being a drunken t*at in front of his mates. A lot of their fans think he'll be sacked now, got previous apparently as well. I mean, you're a professional footballer, is it really that hard to stay out of trouble? Losing to a goal scored by that waste of humanity brought back the depression briefly.

I think you’re on the wrong thread mate.

It would have been MK Dons away. Fake club so not worth it. I would much prefer Truro away
To be fair had we gone up the fixtures would have been totally different seeing as the league computer takes location of club in as a factor.

Bit like when people say ohh we would have got this club in the next round of the cup well no because the whole time line moving forward would change

I feel fine personally, I am still enjoying us being the big fish in a small pond still and being the biggest club in UK non league football and maybe even the biggest club in the world at level 5?! (Mainly thanks to the U.K. having the strongest pyramid in the world)

Don’t get me wrong I wanna get back in the league as much as the next person.
