Question How would you rate Southend United fans?

Heskey

Coach
Just wondering if you could answer me a few questions as I haven't been to a game since the last away trip to Swansea City.
Although I should hopefully get to games such as Hereford away this season.

How good is the atmosphere the Southend fans create?

For approximately how long of every match do Southend fans sing?

What do you think is best about Southend fans?

How creative are the chants Southend fans sing because as far as I know we have no original chants?

And finally I have my own thoughts about how well we'll do this season but how do you think we'll do presuming we can field a team?

Thanks
Tobinho

Ahhh a perfect opportunity for a spot of sniping and bitching to break out. (Again)

My thought's (Biased of course)

The atmosphere at RH is the best it has been since it turned all-seater.

Singing is generally heard for most of the game, particularly in V/W Block.

The level of support we have given the lads the last couple of seasons has been superb. Given the **** on offer.

We could do a lot better with the originality of chants, but some of the newer ones have caught on well.

I foresee a mid-table finish next season. Nothing spectacular, nothing overly worthy of a jump off the Pier.

Weak is my answer. Just read some of the comments about going to the west ham game next week. That is the difference between living in a city and a town. Could you imagine Millwall fans saying they will not be attending because west ham fans will be in the home areas if they played them in a friendly?. Of course not, many of our fans spout off about this and that, yet when it comes to turning out and supporting the team albeit in a friendly, they give their excuses about not going. If we all went to the game and gave our side 100% vocal encouragement, then that would drown out the 'bubbles' chants coming from the parts of the ground which have been infiltrated due to the pathetic stewarding. That my friend is a fact.

100% agree Billy Best was just gonna post something similar on the West Ham thread.

Still 6,000 to 8.000 turning up at the Hall, while fighting relagation, players looking unintrested,at times could barely put a side out,and Martin gradually running out of ideas, i would think those hardy soles deserve a medal.

On the whole I'd say it was excellent considering recent events. Just a tad too many left wing, coffee shop revolutionary, beret wearing, pipe smoking loonies for my liking.

Yep that's the East stand lot alright.

I'll have you know that although I sit in the East stand I have never worn a beret in my life, although I think the look could suit me. I'll give it a go at the next game and and ask my fellows over a cup of java and some strawberry flavoured pipe tobacco :)
