I've been thinking, after our previous 2 matches which have been against the two newer sides in League 2, how we have fared against the promoted teams in the past from 2000-01 season onwards. I have found the following:

Promoted Team - Kidderminster Harriers

Kidderminster (H) - D 1-1 / Kidderminster (A) - L 2-1

2001-2002 - Division 3

Promoted Team - Rushden & Diamonds

Rushden (H) - W 4-2 / Rushden (A) - W 1-0

2002-2003 - Division 3

Promoted Team - Boston United

Boston (H) - W 4-2 / Boston (A) - L 1-0

2003-2004 - Division 3

Promoted Teams - Yeovil Town & Doncaster Rovers

Yeovil (H) - L 0-2 / Yeovil (A) - L 4-0

Doncaster (H) - L 0-2 / Doncaster (A) - L 2-0

2004-2005 - Coca-Cola League 2

Promoted Teams - Chester City & Shrewsbury Town

Chester (H) - W 1-0 / Chester (A) - D 2-2

Shrewsbury (H) - W 1-0 / Shrewsbury (A) - D 1-1

I'm struggling to know what it is you want to discuss here.

Another interesting stat, none of those got relegated in their first season of being in the 4th tier.

I still don't know!!

If you read what i originally posted you'd know...in case you hadn't realised, in our last 2 matches we've played Newport & Mansfield. The two sides who got promoted from the conference. And i was just interested in knowing how we have fared against the promoted sides in Division 3/League 2...

Yeah, thanks for that, I'll try to be more intelligent in future.

When I first saw the thread title I thought it would be about our performances against the teams that have been promoted from our division, my thoughts are that we have done marginally better against them than the teams which end up relegated out of the FL but that may just be because they tend to be better games and more memorable. Any stats for them?

I know someone who will be able to (and would love to) provide that info in an instant!

I got to admit when i read the thread title ,i thought it was meant to be how we have faired against the teams that were promoted from our division each season, not that had bee promoted from the conference etc.
