This was a thread i was about to start last night, nothing to do with the richlist but should i win the euromillions on friday i need to know how much to set aside to buy my beloved team, whilst still keeping RM as chairman of course, and giving him honoury status on the board! Our debts are a major factor and as i don't know what they are its hard to tell, i wouldn't have thought though that we would be worth more than 7 million taking into account the stadium, certainly not much more than 10 million.

Al i know is, i'm not an expert!!!

Yes re-reading my post i think that i may be being slightly optimistic! Alcohol seems to make me excited

Sorry for being stupid, but if Liverpool are worth £122.4 million then what led to them being sold for over £450 million?

Is it that the values don't include all land, or somesuch equity, that I haven't thought of?

I know they paid off debts but apart from that I'm not sure.

tbh I haven't got a clue how they work out the values!

if the club is a limited liability company then they are requred by law to submit their yearly figures to Companies House, If they are a private company then their shareholders will receive a similar yearly statement. Either of these can tell you how much the club thinks it is worth.

However the only real way of knowing is by making a takeover bid for the club, in which case a DD study would reveal the true figure.

At a guess, I would say that the equity of land on which RH is situated on means that the club is in a healthy position as far as a balance sheet goes, which is probably why every chairman since Vic Jobson has been desperate to relocate us.

Think you are all over estimating...... The 'Club' don't actually own the ground.

All the club own is about 7 million in debt.

The company that owns the ground(owned by Big Ron) say they will wipe the interest on the rent we have been paying over the past few years so the figure of 7 million may shrink.

Until we get planning permission on Roots Hall I'm pretty sure the club is worthless.... as without this or a benefactor with 20 million to invest the new stadium is not going to happen. So we are left with just our assets over our liabilities... Which is freddy's value/ wages of everyone else + interest on £ 7 million....

How much the club is actually worth and how much they could be sold for different because of the element of projected earnings. Liverpool will have factored in income/profit over the next few years into the sale price

According to the last accounts SUFC (as opposed to SEL who own the ground etc) Had assets totalling 742K (Liabilities were 5.15 M)

The figures you are quoting for the worth of Liverpool etc are revenue figures, i.e. that is the value of their sales of tickets, sponsorship, advertising and merchandise etc over the past 12 months.

It does not include the book value of capitalised assets, or the value of debt, or ongoing earnings potential - all of which are factors which influence the share price. The share price is the guide to the cost that a potential buyer would have to meet or exceed in order to buy the club - as you have to offer a value that shareholders are willing to accept in order to buy their shares. You then also have to cover outstanding debt and most often set out investment plans for the immediate and medium term future. Hence the reported 'value' of an ownership transaction being nothing like the revenue figure for the previous 12 months.

Liverpool's new owners are stumpin up over £200million for the new ground on top of clearing debt and buying the shares.

As far as we're concerned, we're priceless...well to me anyway! :D

Not to mention the 'brand' being one of the best in football.

As for us, we're probably worth a reasonable amount if they do their own valuation. Eastwood's value alone could mean you making a profit on a £1m investment. If you could keep RM on board as well as the current management team, it would probably be worth buying.

Real Madrid £186.2m
Man Utd £166.4m
AC Milan £158m ..............

......... Southend United .... PRICELESS

I am led to believe that Deloitte who compile the figure base the values on assets and income and no element of debt in taken in to account. As if this was the case Man Ure would be there!!!
