How many shrimperzoners are not going to be posting next season

bearing in mind we are going lose about 34% of our average crowd, does this mean some of the new posters we have gained in the last 2 seasons, are going to fall by the wayside, lets say theres a regular 150 people who post on here??? do we lose say 40 regular posters, who go back to supporting whoever they did before, it stands to reason that some of the posters on here are not going to be bothered, I am interested, I really am, any suggestions for people who wont be posting anymore??

Are we? What are you basing this on? I honestly think that many of these fans will return next season. I'm a new poster and i'm certainly not going, i only found out about site though a colleague and i think just because someone is a new poster to think they won't be back because we got relegated is an absurd suggestion.

No doubt the owners thank you for your concern, however as the word of ShrimperZone gets out even further and the internet keeps booming, we'll build on those figures even IF Southend United do lose a few fans through relegation. Which I might add, I do not believe will happen.

You'll notice if you look carefully enough though on the ShrimperZone Index board that it states how many active members SZ currently has....

I would have thought as more people get the internet and more People get pc's that figures will actually increase.

34% sounds like cr@p to me! As for losing regular posters because of relegation, I find that difficult to believe also. These people are amongst the most fanatical SUFC supporters, otherwise they wouldn't log in so often. Gotta say though, this is the most uninteresting thread i have ever seen on this board and you deserve neg rep for even thinking this is interesting.

To be honest, I think thanks to the last few seasons we will actually have made a great gain on fans/posters. Plenty of people that may have come to enjoy the last few seasons are probably now more than likely "converted".

Everyone I know with ST's this year are renewing as well we a few I know that are getting one for the first time due to enjoying this season so much. So I actually think your post might be a load of tosh! However, come the end of August, if I am one of only 3,500 people at Roots Hall then you wont see me for dust!

I dont beleive for a 2nd one in three people will not renew and if they are that fickle then I dont want them at Roots Hall in the first place.

34% sounds like cr@p to me! .

30% is certainly possible, that would put us at 7,000. We will immediately lose 500-1500 away fanst a game which takes us down to 8,500. That only leaves 1500 people who came because of the championship to stop coming.

As to this forum, Im sure people who take the time to track down a forum and register arent going to stop posting just because we didnt survive this season.

But TWMLT said 34% of our average crowd of over 10000 and not of STH's.

Still a boring thread and i'm not gonna read any more of it!

He did but 30% of 10,000 would mean an average of 7,000 next season, not unrealistic (or indeed interesting).

He did, and as I said, 30% of 10,000 would mean an average of 7,000 next season, not unrealistic (or indeed interesting).

Ok fair enough, if he is talking average attendance then he may not be far off. However I think it will depend a lot on initial success next season. If we make a good start to the season then I am pretty sure they will come flocking back. Although like Dts said, if they are that fickle that they only come back for the success then best shot of them really....

Actually, to be fair to TMWLT, I might have to stop posting so much. I'm going to be pretty busy with work next season and, looking back, I've let my productivity slip a bit this season.

Count me out!

i'm considering resigning from Shrimperzone to spend more time with my loved ones, only to re-surface 3 days later on a Newcastle board... or perhaps Birmingham, they are after all 'sleeping giants'

but as your join date states Jan 2006 that makes you one of the new posters from the last two seasons. If we do lose 40 out of 150 people that makes it a 26% chance that you will stop posting.

I am in this camp.......i feel that as word spreads we can only increase the folk that are posting.

What would help is if during big games like the playoffs and the cup games we could encourage ex-pats to go in to the Shriperzone chat room (Spread Eagle) and bring in folk with them who don’t support the blues, kind of turn it in to football/sports chat room during close season for all football supporters to discus live games or any other sporting event that may be going on at the time.....Just a thought.

Even if someone was going to give up on the team as a result of the recent relegation, they'd hardly be likely to come on here and admit would they?
