Went out for a meal with my beautiful lady yesterday afternoon - on cloud 10,000.
As we paid the bill, the young waitress made conversation - for a tip no doubt. The weather? world news? Holidays? Rest of day? NO.
"what about the football - didn't they do well?". There was no hint I had any interest. It is the topic of the moment and a sense of genuine pride.
