Rover John

Youth Team
If you dont count the first two league games I would say we are just about the best team in div 4 this year, what are your thoughts.

Maybe, Gillingham look a decent side also (I know we were unlucky there). But they have a good run of results and scoring lots of goals.

We are looking like a footballing side but I doubt any side in the league gets as many crosses into the box as we do!

If we carry on as we are I'd put us in the top 3 sides in this division however IMHO the overall size of the squad is probably just too small for promotion. If we are able to get 2 or 3 "fillers" in at some stage to pad out the midfield we can certainly go one better than last year. There's no better collection of strikers in this league, keeping them fit and available will also be key.

On paper think defence, keeper and attack are about as good as it gets. However midfield is lacking for me. Timlin I am cool with and Hurst but I am not over whelmed with Spicer, Martin or Leonard. Hopefully we will get Hally back all be it short term soon so will be happier with that.

Feel strength in depth might tell in harsh winter months.

This for me. If we can strengthen the midfield area with the right loan or two throughout the season and cover off any injuries in other positions in the same way, we're looking pretty strong. Can't wait to see a fully fit strikeforce from Eastwood, Corr and Assombalonga.

A guy I work with is a Gills mate and is really nervous of the Gills position. He can't see it lasting. They won't be there at the end of the season.

Leonard is actually a very intelligent player. Next time you see him play, watch his movement. I like him and will play at a higher level

I would agree with most of the comments so far and add that sitting in the south upper you do notice the movement off the ball of the likes of leonard ect far more than from other stands.

as we only have 2 recognised and experienced central midfielders atm, i am dubious about our ability to cope with the sheer number of games, we need a couple of loanees in or for woodyard to step it up a gear and begin challenging for a place. otherwise, we are up there with the best starting 11's in the league

if strikers stay fit and good central miidfielder we have a chance of going up which we realy need to do the problem then will be who goes and who stays
