Hooper again

Jonny_Stokes

Dan Agyei Appreciator
Sorry to bore on about a well-trodden subject, but this is happening. We didn't meet your valuation of him (about a quarter of what you paid for Paynter, incidentally...) on deadline day, but we'll sign him on loan when the loan window re-opens, with a probable permenant deal in January to follow. Someone (else) to boo at the away match, then.

To be honest he has looked half hearted in some of the games I have seen. And given the few opportunities he has been handed you would have thought he would have used them to shine.

Shocking if true, and another player who wouldn't really have gotten his chance at the club in that case.

Do you have a source for this Jonny, or is this just something you've heard? As with most transfers, I won't fully accept it until the deal is done but I can't say I'd be too surprised if it happened. :(

Heard rumours at the club (as in I was 'in' the club, not just in the ground) before the game on Saturday - since been on the Orient MB from our most reliable man-in-the-know, the legendary Sawbos. I'll be very surprised if it doesn't happen.

I'm sure there'll be a few "no loss - he's wubbish" comments coming up, but I will reiterate that I think he's very talented, and fits in with the model of a number of signings at Orient recently: troubled (Thornton, Boyd) or long-term injured (Chambers, Terry); players that are seemingly going nowhere at other clubs, and coming here to be revitalised under Lingy. I'd personally be elated if we could could sign him again.

No question that Hoops is talented. He has just looked out of sorts for us. Not sure why but there you go. He doesnt seem to have taken the opportunities given to him. He had a full reserve game the other week unyet it was a 16 year old who caught the eye and not just for his goal. It will be a shame if he left but its possible his future lies away from Roots Hall.

If this is true it will be a shame, I think Hooper will be as good as or even better than Freddy with the right coaching, but I also agree his heart dosen't seem to be at the Hall and he dosen't seem interested at the moment. Remember we offered him a 2 year deal, but he only wanted 1.

We muast be watching different matches because Hooper has done very little, full stop. Get rid.

Good players, even young players, burst on to the scene and score goals. Unless I am mistaken, Hooper has never even scored a league goal for us. He has barely come close. He is a weak, pathetic waste of space with an obvious attitude problem. I remember how highly everyone rated Fitzpatrick a few years back. Where is he now? I feel Hooper is in the same league as him and Daniel Webb. Useless. This continuing Hooper apppreciation continues to astound me. With his attitude I will be surprised if he makes 20 career league goals.

Back that one up - I have seen nothing to suggest he could lace one of Freddy's boots. Are we watching different players? Have I been watching Carl Hooper, the legendary West indies all-rounder?

He's certainly not made the most of his (admittedly limited) opportunities so far this season, and as people have said he looks disinterested. Perhaps a move away will be in his best interests, especially since his dad seems determined to get him to sign for Borient.

I guess I agree with the majority of posts already in that he hasn't really been given his chance here and when he has had them, he hasn't exactly shown himself off in the best light. If he (or his dad :p) is unhappy here then maybe it is time for him to move on. I do worry though about the fact that we have two loan strikers who could go back as soon as their current deals are up.

You're joking right? Freddy was by FAR the most special player we've had since Collymore - no way will Hooper ever be anywhere near the same league as either of those.

You can have him Johnny. I think he's a decent player at best, and i think we have better here. If he goes and does a kightly, so what? He won't improve much here, another loan would be good for him.
