I'm thinking about one last 'Lads Holiday' before i get too old and like a cup of hot chocolate and a blanket on a saturday night.

Where is the place to go this summer? We've had the Ibiza's, Ayia Napa's, magalufs etc and haven't heard whats cheap and cheerful as well as mad nowadays? Looking at going near the end of June, so any suggestions?

the last couple of years I've not done a lads summer hol (we've done winter city jollys). instead I've been abroad with my girlfriend and we've gone to resorts near to lively places. last yeah we were down the road from magaluf, and this yeah we are the next resort down from laganas. two good resorts are kos and malia. cheap, cheerful and brilliant for a lads weekend. i'm sure you'll find a good last min deal as long as they isn't too many of you going

Helmands province is pretty hot - Not busy, camel's go for about 1 USA dollars, and a a beer is about 2 camels - i did pay for a beer in Hamlet court road - it was an afghani run shop, and i paid with a tenner and got 9 camels and 32 goats as change.


Plus i heard all the royals hang out there.

Well this year I am off to both Kos and Zante. Both have cost me in the region of £300. Which I think is farely cheap for hotel, transfers and flights.

I can highly recommend 2wentys (first choice). Not forceful in waking you up and forcing you on to excursions etc like 18-30's are known to be. Have been away with 2wentys about 6 times now and have never had any problems. All the reps are wicked and helpful and from start to finish it is always well organised and a wicked laugh. Good thing about it is you can book with them and have the convenience of their help without having to book any excursions or anything. Only one we ever do is the booze cruise which is a good crack.

Have been to Ayia Napa, Kos, Zante, Malia and Corfu with them and going twice with them this year. Best place I would recommend is Zante.

I honestly can't think of a better reason for picking somewhere as your holiday destination.

However, I also say Malia. It beats the others hands down in my opinion. Shagaluff is more like Gayaluff. Anyone I know says its 20:1 ratio. Kos & Kavos smell. Ayia Napa is full of boom boom music and from what I've heard, bit of a drug culture going on. And Zante, while it was good back in 2005, it's just too small with the bars too spaced out.

Malia is the right mix (of everything) with chilled out & hardcore bars & clubs. Beach is also alright, and less trouble there generally than other Greek/Spanish resorts. (Had it's first glimpses of trouble in 2006, but was dealt with pretty strongly by all accounts...)

we staying in kalimaki (sp) from the 9th till 16th. it's the next resort down from laganas so will be good for a few lively nights and a few more chilled out nights!

Good idea. We did our fourth annual city away break earlier this month and it's getting a lot tougher now we're all 30 or thereabouts. On the last night, half of the gang - not me I hasten to add! - were back in the hotel before midnight. Shocking. Incidentally, venues and ratings out of ten:

Berlin 2005 - 8/10
Tallinn 2006 - 9/10
Sevilla 2007 - 8/10 (I give it an extra point as it was my stag. A 7 would probably be fairer)
Lisbon - 7/10

Depends how old you are mate but would recommend Malia whole-heartdly if your in your early-mid twenties.

I went last year and it was good but I was a bit old for it

Lashkar Gah (Lash Vegas( is the resort to go to. Air Con rooms, good food, and statellite TV. Nightlife is tonk though, and the talent is shocking. Whered you get the beer from. I gagging for some... :)
