Holiday to Corfu

I was looking on lastminute.com earlier today and was looking at holidays for me and a few mates once we hit 18.

Just wondered if anyone on here had been/knows someone who has been to Corfu, and what you/they thought of it...

For £290...

7 nights in a 5 star hotel.
All inclusive.
Flights.
No transfers though.

Peoples thoughts on the deal, what else should I look into before I think about booking.

Sounds like a very good deal. The only problem with Corfu is it's like walking down Benfleet High Street. Meaning you bump into loads of people you know. As long as that don't bother you, go for it.

Yer went there 2 years ago, went to sidari, lovely place, loads of lively bars! i definately recommend

If your looking for a lads pulling week then Corfu is a good idea I think. We went to Kavos had a cracking time when I was 18. Transfers you can normally pay your travel company extra for and that can be a good idea as you can get knocked by the local taxi drivers..

All in all very good price I reckon when you consider the standard of accom.

Also recommend Malia in Crete if your looking for that sort of thing....

Where about in Corfu are you staying?

Sidari is the best part of Corfu if you want it lively without being too over the top, good for families, good restaurants good for everything. I have been there a dozen times, made loads of mates and don't even need to hire a car now...the locals just give me the keys to theirs!!

I went to Kassiopi, one of the quieter islands, with a few mates in 2000. I dare say it's changed a bit since then but I had a great time there. Very relaxed atmosphere and plenty of decent bars and restaurants. The locals are extremely friendly too, especially if you make an effort to learn a few Greek words/phrases.

Only been once. Stayed in Benitses (spelling). Lovely hotel, but the resort was a khazi. Norman Whiteside and Ray Clemence were also staying in our hotel. Was the year that Whiteside scored his goal in the FA Cup. Was that '83?

Anyway Benitses was a hole and I can't imagine it's improved much.

Does that help?

I went to Sidari a few years ago. It's a pretty nice part of the island - as DWB says it's pretty lively but at the same time it's quieter than Kavos. Took a trip to Kavos one evening and had an awesome time! Would recommend Kavos if you want a mad holiday but Sidari is pretty good if it's a more chilled out hoilday you are looking for. Personally I would head to Kavos if I went back!
