Get yourself over to Montreal mate. I went there about three years back and the lap dancing clubs were pretty good and cheap as chips compared to the UK.

Excellent!

I went to Toronto for a week in Feb.  Loved every minute!
It was very cold and the lowest it gone down to with snow was about -15.

When you go to Niagra, check out the little village near by called Niagra on the lake.  It looks like a film set with lots of nice little shops and houses etc. The helicopter ride over Niagra is superb, with such breathtaking views. One word of advice though, dont sit with your back towards the cockpit of the helicopter. It made me feel really sick for some reason, lots of twisting and turning in the air. It was my first helicopter ride though.

If you can and i know the season has just started, try and get tickets for an NHL game.  I was lucky enough to get tickets for the Maple Leafs v NJ Devils, and good seats they were too.  It was a superb night with an electric atmosphere.
i also took in two NBA games, Toronto Raptors v LA Clippers, and Raptors v San Antonio Spurs (Saw Eva Longoria's boyfriend Tony Parker play).  Tickets are easy to come by for these NBA games.  I think their in the pre season stage of their season.  They even bring beer to your seat!

Go up the CN tower, excellent views.

And if you do decide to go to Toronto, check out the underground PATH network.  16km of tunnels, with lots of food type outlets and other shops.  Plus it links up to a Lakeside style shopping centre called the eaton centre.

The Rogers Centre next to the CN tower is worth a look.  Massive stadium with re-tractable roof.  It's where the Toronto Blue Jays MLB team play, as do the Toronto football team.

China town and Kensington market are quite good also.

I stayed at the Sheraton hotel.  This is highly recommended, and links right to the PATH network.

Lots of good books on Canada in travel sections in all book shops!

Have a great time wherever you go!

Went there 3 times in 2004/05 and very nearly emigrated in late 05.

CN Tower, incredible views and I dare you to do the glass floor...1500 ft straight down, scared me sh!t less.

Niagara on the Lake.....an absolutely wonderful place to chill out and take in some colonial history.

Niagara Falls..a once in a lifetime experience and if you do get to do the Maid in the Mist be sure your camera is waterproof

Last time I was there I stayed in Sarnia, Ontario and it went down to -21 with a windchill of -31....so be warned

Have a cracking time, its a wonderfully diverse country with stunning scenery

Mr the kray pretty much said it all.there is also a great entertainment district about 4 blocks square with loads of clubs and bars right downtown.legal drinking age over here is 19 so make sure you have id if you are a youngster (passport)cause they can't understand old uk drivers licences. If you have travellers cheques most resturants will take them as payment. The raps are just starting preseason ,they look to have a good team this year.If you can get leafs tickets you should really go.they lost in a shoot out last night after leading 6-3 in the third period. If you can't get leafs tickets try going to the marlies, they are the farm team (reserves)of the leafs.

just heard on the radio buffalo had 2 feet of snow last night, they are about an hour and a half away.If you decide to go across the border to niagara falls new york or buffalo be prepared to wait at customs (about 1 1/2 hours)while they check paperwork.
Any questions feel free to ask.

Never tried it myself but apparently the train journey across Canada is quality. If you find yourself in Vancouver, definitely head down the Cactus Cafe to kick off your night. Can barely remember where we went after that each time we were there but there's one road where most of the best places are.

Only thing you have to remember is that you have to travel the breadth of the second largest country in the world to get from one side to the other.

Get yourself to an ice hockey (otherwise known as ice fighting amonst some of my ill informed university buddies) game. I went to see one in New York a couple of years back and would love to do it again.

As a fan of the Buffalo Bills its something Ive always wanted to do but as the NFL Season doesnt start till September its a probelm convincing the missus that we should go there when it start getting cold. Perhaps you could let me know if there is much for women and kids to do.

Hi there,
TONS to do in the Toronto/Southern Ontario area...

Personally I'm not much of a museum/sightseeing kinda guy, but you probably want to check out the CN Tower at the very least, and perhaps pay a visit to Niagara Falls (tons of stuff to do in the town aside from seeing the waterfall)...

That said the nightlife is pretty decent here in Toronto, the entertainment district (Richmond/Adelaide/King and Peter/Duncan/John) has tons of clubs of all sorts, ranging from university style pub clubs like Piccadilly Circus and Milwaukee's to some pretty fancy shmancy places like This is London and Budo but there are plenty of options in between (Fez Batik, Distrikt, Joe)...

Loads of pub style bars downtown like Duke of Argyle in the entertainment district, Duke of Gloucester up at Yonge/Bloor and a few good ones in the Yorkville/Annex area (Madison, Bedford, Brunswick House)... There is a nice strip of restaurants on King St. West just to the west of all of the theatre's...

If you wanna do some Oxford St. style shopping I'd hit the 3 streets of Queen West (University to Spadina), Yonge (from Queen up to Bloor) and Bloor West/Yorkville (from Yonge to St. George), there is also the Eaton Centre at Yonge & Queen or Dundas...

Tickets to a Leaf game aren't hard to get at face value, you just have to have some patience and a computer... on game day, Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.ca) releases anywhere from 500-2000 seats and they can be had for the price printed on the front of the ticket ($50CDN for the cheapest SEAT, 25 for standing room)... Raptors are alright, but nothing beats a LEAF game...

There are also some cool neighborhoods to explore, Forest Hill has some nice houses and Casa Loma, Yonge & Eglinton is a trendy area full of bars/restaurants/shops and even North York Centre is alright to spend a couple hours walking around, although anything distant from the city itself is probably not worth visiting as it's all suburbia past Steeles Ave (the northern boundary of Toronto)...

Anyhow, hope that was helpful, keep us posted as to how your trip went!!
