from the club or HMRC OBL?
Some good news today then, now where's the apology?

Must say i agree with this, although HMRC are being arsey its little wonder with RM record of not paying on time, and the fact it never seems to be his fault.Because RM has taken the p**s with HMRC so often and not just with SUFC, we can expect this sort of thing to happen every time there is a dispute - simple message is that HMRC are not a bank and that well run businesses should pay their taxes on time.
RM is simply reaping the consequences of his previous actions and I fully expect this behaviour from HMRC to happen at every given opportunity that RM presents them with.
OK Canvey, "You owe me £250 and you owe me by Friday otherwise I'm taking you to court."From HMRC? I suspect Hell may freeze over first.
I'm sorry SUFC are in the wrong, they knew when the bill was due for payment, they apparently had the necessary readies on hand, yet they still paid the bill late. Given our past record with HMRC common sense says you pay them on the due date.
Before you start asking for apologies maybe it would be a good idea to find out if we have paid the additional penalty first, hence the lifting of the petition. Of course it's also possible that HMRC did make a mistake this time but looking at the rather abrupt statement on the OS it doesn't appear the club are claiming a victory in this latest dispute. Had RM got one over on HMRC I would have expected the usual drivel and spin, the silence is deafening, maybe TB will reveal all at the Q&A.

Doesn't feel good does it? Feel the need to question it before agreeing to pay?
People have posted on here that we know what we should be paying because it's PAYE, We tell HMRC what we owe then pay it, so there should be no excuse. But, given our recent crap record with HMRC, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out that HMRC will now be doing their own sums. When they disagree with ours, you get dispute. When a bill is still under dispute, you don't pay it.
Canvey, HMRC refunds take years to get back. I am still waiting for one that dates to 2007. That's why you don't pay until the bill is agreed, cos you lose the money for a hell of a long time without interest in the mean time.
