Hi Everyone !
Im a new member on the board. Been a supporter for about 16years. I live in Bedfordshire so only make the occasional game. Last match i made it to was Bristol Rovers 1-1 draw back in November. I have no connection to Southend except they are fairly regional living in East Anglia. I started supporting when i saw us lose 2-0 to Birmingham live on ITV back in 1996. Dont know why ! Just liked the look of the team, club etc... Have been to about 150 games since then.
The1st game i ever went to was actually an away game at Ipswich in 96 when we drew 1-1. First game at the Hall was a 2-1 defeat to Barnsley in March 97. I remember paying £ 4 for a ticket in the South Stand Lower !
It took about 20 or so games before i saw my 1st ever victory which was a 1-0 win against Scarboro' in 1998.
Also managed to make the 2 LDV Finals in 04 and 05 but missed the Play off win at the Millenium as i was on Holiday in Spain.
Fave player of all time is Simon Royce. I always have a soft spot for our 'keepers. One thing that always annoys me is that i never got to go to Roots Hall when the South Stand was that huge terrace. I would have loved that !
